this game is an absolute scam. it is RIGGED and blatantly obvious about it. but they dont care to fix it because it makes people spend more money to try and do better... when its not your cards that hold you back. its the game stacking your deck to ensure you just barely dont win. competitive modes have been a 100% loss rate using a deck that wins 90% of its games in non competition. in competition the opponents will NEVER quit. and they NEVER make a mistake... seems more like its not putting us against actual players but putting each player against an unbeatable ai that simulates being a real player. i demand absolute proof that the game is not rigged. until then i will continue to believe and share that it is.

Very bugy game. However, the most upsetting part is that it's the only free to play MTG simulator and you have to grind for months as a new player to make one deck. There should be major quality of life update on the economy and the game as a whole.

I wanted to get into Magic the Gathering and was recommended this as a free way to get exposure to some of the cards and gameplay. Across two hours of gameplay, across 3 different gaming sessions on different days, this game crashed or froze 5 times. I have never written a steam review before, but the stability of this game is the worse I have ever experienced by a game on steam. I am honestly shocked by how frequent these issues occurred and how poor the game runs. This is not some small indie game developed by a small studio or an individual person. I know it is not my hardware or internet connection causing these problems as I play many competitive games online and never experience internet related issues, and my PC is capable of running modern triple A games at high settings in most cases.

The economy alone is enough to make me not recommend this game. You're going to be spending a lot of money if you ever want to play more than one semi-competitive deck. Otherwise, the game is pretty buggy at times. The matchmaking is suspicious but in the age of engagement based matchmaking, this is no surprise. The absolute insane pace of cards being released also makes it impossible to keep up. As well, from a style perspective, the game feels soulless with all these IPs creating what feels like Fortnite the TCG. If that's your jam, cool, but it's not for everyone. Overall - the game reeks of corporate greed and toxic competitive multiplayer. Stick to printing proxies and playing with your friends at the kitchen table.
