Reviews
As of writing this review for Magic Soldier. I don't recommend the current state of game for any player, on first glance it might seem like a fun & casual MMO however on the Devs words it is meant to be a game with no handholding / without assistance where you must find & do everything by yourself which I don't mind myself however I do believe that is an excuse to not improve upon certain aspects. UPDATE 28/4/2025: I got banned from the discord server 1 day after writing this review. And I noticed after my review, the Devs are writing their own positive review one of them being "Vhaeriel". So I wasn't kidding the devs only want yes-men players that doesn't critique the game. So feel free to play this game if you want to feel like walking around egg-shells and scared of pissing the wrong guy off, either it be player or devs (Read 5. you'll see what I mean). My initial impression & current experience as a player & other new players I am level 60 after 37 hours of grinding. Max level being (100). 1. As a new player when you first join, there are already a bunch of confusing stuff happening. Element names are in Japanese Romaji, character names are in FantasyNameGenerator.Com, and certain words are in french. So if you aren't good are memorizing dialogues before talking to NPCs, it wouldn't even matter. You can learn their names through dialogues but makes no difference as they would move spots either way. Tutorial is horrible as well, I had to teach a level 1 player that I happened to walk upon with no gear punching training dummies for a quest to grab certain items from certain places to progress. So the game is probably losing a lot more new players than I thought. 2. A user asked "Why can't I create women character?" and canonically "magic soldiers is a male phenomenon. (Devs words on discord, not mine). So if you want to play as a female character, that's out the window. (Oh yeah, if you aren't in the discord. You probably won't learn ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on how to play the game) 3. There is only 1 single server and it's in Europe, I play from Australia and I have 300 ping. 4. No waypoints or nametags for NPC or quests, you would literally need to hold shift (sprint) for a whole 10 minutes or even longer running around the whole map HOPING you'd see a bright yellow icon above their heads. Oh? You don't see one? Then it's probably inside one of the buildings! Now go run into every building until you see the NPC. Oh? NPC wants you to go back to original NPC for quest? Sure! But now the NPC moved to somewhere else without telling you, so now you can probably spend another 20 minutes searching for him. Oh? You found him again? Nice, now he tells you to find another NPC and where you can find him. "Go to the guard in town." Brother, which f*cking guard? Every ♥♥♥♥ looks the same. Man I get "no handholding" but most of these quests is just walking / running around aimlessly for 20-30 minutes and if you're lucky you get to farm mobs which the quest needs 10-20-25-50 of it's mob drops to progress. 5. The community is very small, it's mainly around 5-8 people and I'm not counting new players since they quit after 1 day. There's no issue to most of the players as they are very friendly, however there are some users who are borderline power tripping or gets mad if any sort of complaint gets made towards the game, so if you're new and unsatisfied you more or less get a bad reception and get responded with "This is not an assisted game." or "It is designed this way" in their discord #suggestion channel so don't bother giving suggestions and just suck it up. Granted there are a lot of nice players in the game, but there are a few players who are power tripping over the smallest things ever, as I posted above. One of my experiences was that, I was XP farming alone then a "day 1" player barged in asking me to "get in the party", I joined and accepted their help then made a joke that the XP farming in this game is takes forever and is horrible. To which they got mad and said "why are you complaining" as if I'm not allowed to, proceeds to argue that the game is perfect, threatens to not help me XP farm (yes you read that right, threatened to not help me xp farm. wow! scary!), says "We don't want you in our community" then threatens with a "Goodluck my friend, you're in for a rough time". You can more or less think 30% of players are like that in this game, not to mention there are only 2 guilds which one of the guildmaster is the cousin of the dev who just so happens to be the "best" player in the game bragging in guild chat: "I even personally asked the creator of the game who is my cousin to make weapons that I wanted". So if you want a "no handholding", "no assistance" game gatekept by obnoxious "day 1" players then this is the game for you! And if you're lucky, you meet some of the nicest players ever. 6. XP Farming is atrocious. I am 37hrs in, and I've barely scratched the surface. Max level is 100, and after that you can reset your character so it can earn more skill points from level 1. Questing (Each quest takes around 15-40 minutes walking & mindlessly hitting the same mob) and that only gets you up to level 40, from there it'll mainly be sitting in 1 corner of a farm spot and spamming the same 2-3 skills. Wait, that sounds like normal MMOs right? Nope, from level 40 onwards it takes 100k EXP per level, best farming spot drops 300 XP each. 4.5s CD & 10s CD for my skills & current class. Meaning I have to kill 333 mobs just to level up ONCE. Not only do I have to wait on my cooldowns to even kill 1 mob, I have to wait for my mana to regen which can't be regenerated unless I stop attacking, I have 2700 mana which takes 1 minute 10s to refill back up. Good luck farming from 40-100, but yknow, this game isn't suppose to be "handholding" or "assisting" so deal with it. - Anyways, this is my overall experience with this game and what I've seen from other players starting at the same time as me. I do believe it has the charm to be a better game but as of now it is not worth the current price tag either. Players are cool, some are weird and want you to suck up to them. General QoL is horrible. That's it, bye.

This game is absolutely terrible. Actually the worst game I've ever played in terms of polished/complete. Where do we even start? Maybe that it has one dev selling an unpolished game for $$$? Maybe it's the population where steamcharts show their 24 hour peak at 6 players (2 being myself and brother, 2 being dev/admin and the other two his boyfriends). Maybe the fact you can p2w with xp pots? Hmm... maybe it's because half the game is in english, and the other half of the game is in french? LOL wtf is that even about... How about walking around for hours trying to find where to go, looking for NPCs that move from one spot to another. The energy system implemented doesn't reset, and you have to DM the dev on discord to ask him to reset it while he comes up with all these BS reasons to why it's not working. We went without energy for a whole week. (You can't really progress through some questlines without it) How about the fact the game is only good for a specific region in EU, since anyone in NA will have 200 ping because its hosted on a Berlin server. I am mindblown how this game even made it to steam, maybe this should be reported as a scam. I don't write reviews, but this game deserves one. I can name another 50 things wrong with this game, such as the only players that truly do play get special privledges from the dev/admins because theres nobody else playing the game and clearly the dev is desperate. CHEERS. If you like wandering around aimlessly and wasting your time on a laggy server, and you understand multiple languages this game IS for you.
Fun game if you are into MMO RNG-Based rpg's. Movement is weird in the beginning but changing keybinds is key to better gameplay. Honestly worth a try, with more players this might be a decent game. Way better than Heartwood online, which is a bit similar

Supxr's review below me from April 10th is actually true. This is one of the worst MMOs I ever played. Font size and UI scaling is like 2. Can't read anything in game without squinting Movement feels laggy 60 FPS cap Targeting is super glitchy Maps are poorly designed, starting area is very confusing. No Guidance for new players, no quest guidance, no map These are just some of the issues I have noticed from like 20 minutes of playtime.
Very good, u can try !!!!
