Lust from Beyond: Scarlet

[b]Reviewed On: January 28, 2026[/b] [u][b]Overview[/b][/u] Much like Lust from Beyond: Prologue, Scarlet follows the same concept where the game is a mixture of short story plus tech demo to set up Lust from Beyond, this time adding in a little bit more to the gameplay than Prologue. [u][b]Visuals[/b][/u] Visuals still remain the same as the previous game, having decent world textures, but so-so character models. Though maybe there was a slight improvement as there’s a little more body elements going on this time around, but it did feel still kind of the same. And much like before, still has its weird micro stutter issue. [u][b]Audio[/b][/u] Audio is okay, maybe a little bit better voice work. [u][b]Story[/b][/u] In Scarlet, players take on the role of Alan, who’s looking to make his next score with a girl who he believes is a little bit of a freak, which is A-OK in his books. She tells him to meet her at a theatre where they play a little game of “hide and go strip”. Okay really she was just leaving articles of clothing around to get him to follow her, teasing and arousing him in the process. However, things aren’t quite what they seem, as when Alan believes he had found her, he gets knocked out. Turns out, he was the mark. The Scarlet Lodge, who is a rival to the Cult of Ecstasy, know that Alan is a Seeing and force him into using his connection with Lusst’ghaa to gather information on the place. Not much more to really say on things. The game’s story is to primarily introduce the Scarlet Lodge and their connection with the Cult of Ecstasy and kind of show off how different they are in their approach to Lusst’gha, which is to say they seem very fond of inflicting pain upon people, even if it means carving up their body with their slogans. [u][b]Gameplay[/b][/u] Things remain relatively the same as Lust from Beyond: Prologue on the gameplay front, but it does expand on things a touch. While playing a minor role, the game does introduce a combat mechanic towards the end. It’s kind of clunky but plays a minor role. The other new mechanic is quick time events, which is relegated to sexual encounters. Yes, Scarlet finally lets you get your jimmy waxed, whether you really want to or not, given the situation Alan is in at the time, is another matter. But it really only occurs twice, once orally and again later with proper penetration, where you will find yourself staring at some body carvings on her back. But yeah, the quick time events are pretty simple, just click within the window required and that’s it. But if you don’t like such things, they can be disabled and the sequence will just complete itself. [u][b]Is it worth it?[/b][/u] If you’re interested in the Lust series, Lust from Beyond: Scarlet is something to follow up on to get the lay of the land for the main event. Doesn’t cost you a thing other than your time. But if Lust for Darkness never took off for you, then there’s no point to playing Scarlet unless you’re an achievement hunter.
