Lost Skies: Island Creator allows you to create your very own island for the upcoming co-op survival game Lost Skies. Create your own sky island full of stunning vistas and brutal enemies, then release it into the world via the Steam Workshop!

Create Your Own Island

The Lost Skies: Island Creator is a free standalone tool where you can create the island of your dreams or your friend’s nightmares. Form the basic look of your island using simple geometric shapes, then sculpt away until you get your island looking exactly how you imagined it. Want a giant cave system or mountain range going through the island? You can do it!

Decorate Your Island

Create a beautiful island filled with lush forests and stunning vistas or an island full of mystery and danger littered with foreboding caves full of dense fog and dangerous ruins filled with enemies and traps. No matter what you choose, you will be able to bring your island to life!

Create Puzzles and Add Threats

Not every island is peaceful. Add dangerous threats such as enemy drones or create puzzles for players to solve to find treasure. How hostile (and rewarding) you make your island is up to you!

Share Your Island with the World!

After you’ve put the finishing touches on your island, upload it to the Steam Workshop for other players to explore! Change your mind? You can freely edit and re-upload your island as often as you’d like for everyone to enjoy!

"Lost Skies: Island Creator" shouldn't really be considered a game, it's more marketing/software to show off development of a game called "Lost Skies", itself a reboot of a failed attempt to make a steampunkish flying boats game called Worlds Adrift (abandoned in 2019). Lost Skies itself is in Early Access, hasn't been finished, hasn't been updated in months and seems headed directly for development hell. Weird how history doesn't exactly repeat, but it sure rhymes, don't it? What do you do in the game? It's not really a game, you can just mess around with 3D floating environment using some developer tools. Is this fun? No. I appreciate a lot of people really wanted Worlds Adrift to succeed, which is why this has so many positive "hope filled bubble" reviews, but we have to look at this as the product it is... a 3D game environment creator published on Steam in the game section instead of the software section, which would have been more appropriate. The graphics in this game are really quite good, which at least makes the game look more appealing. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at less than 100 concurrent players, they couldn't even break three figures, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
