About
Lost Skies: Island Creator allows you to create your very own island for the upcoming co-op survival game Lost Skies. Create your own sky island full of stunning vistas and brutal enemies, then release it into the world via the Steam Workshop!
Create Your Own Island
The Lost Skies: Island Creator is a free standalone tool where you can create the island of your dreams or your friend’s nightmares. Form the basic look of your island using simple geometric shapes, then sculpt away until you get your island looking exactly how you imagined it. Want a giant cave system or mountain range going through the island? You can do it!
Decorate Your Island
Create a beautiful island filled with lush forests and stunning vistas or an island full of mystery and danger littered with foreboding caves full of dense fog and dangerous ruins filled with enemies and traps. No matter what you choose, you will be able to bring your island to life!
Create Puzzles and Add Threats
Not every island is peaceful. Add dangerous threats such as enemy drones or create puzzles for players to solve to find treasure. How hostile (and rewarding) you make your island is up to you!
Share Your Island with the World!
After you’ve put the finishing touches on your island, upload it to the Steam Workshop for other players to explore! Change your mind? You can freely edit and re-upload your island as often as you’d like for everyone to enjoy!

Join the Discord to join the active Lost Skies community filled with creative visionaries and eager explorers who are helping to shape the future of the game!

A very chill floating island creator, free to own, that is easy to play around with. Wish navigating the island creation process was better, going "up and down" from the side view should work better than it does. Occasionally crashes, can't wait for more updates and more improvements and assets!
This review isn't to say it's a "bad" editor, nor should this reflect on the official title this Island Creator is for. This review is here to say that, in its current state at least, the Lost Skies Island Creator has weird choices and issues that make picking it up more annoying and difficult. The biggest issue for me: A majority of the objects you can use are inconsistently scaled. Walls that are meant to be for ruined buildings are so large that they massively overscale the player, compared to rubble that is supposed to go with it being far too small. There is a rescaling option so you can make them a size that feels better, but to do that with every single prop to make something that feels consistently scaled is an unrealistic ask. Design wise, this Island Creator is similar to the one for Worlds Adrift. If you have experience with that one, you'll have an easier time adjusting to this one. The tools you have to work with in this one, while pretty expansive, isn't intuitive to use. The sculpting tools, especially the flatten tool, are finicky. You will have problems adjusting the island geometry with them. The default shortcut for the lighting preview is set to the "Del" key, which is the same key you use for deleting objects. This will result in multiple lighting changes from unlit to lit everytime you delete an object. And no, you can't remap the controls. The "Ground Object" and "Ground & Surface Align" buttons ignore any/all props, including ruin wall/floor blocks, leading to the button generally not being very helpful in a lot of situations. As nice as the additional lighting effects are, such as bloom and lens flare, they remain active at all times, including in the unlit option, making building in the direction of the sun a bit more annoying. There's also plenty of missing props that would be helpful in making more survivor-made or natural scenes, but those don't really fit for a review that is meant to go over the lesser parts of the editor.

Swinging is not as fun as Worlds adrift was, should have just kept the original gltichyness and just added a few things.
very cool creative tool. Can make citties or ruins, temples. puzzles, obstacle course. Whatever kind of island or play area you want to create the tools are there for it. Can also try to follow the lore and get you island into the official game of course. IF you are into that sort of thing.
I played the demo they had recently. Definitely rough around the edges, but it feels so good to be back! I really hope they add back the old way of aiming the grappling hook, but honestly that's a minor thing. I wish the devs the best!
Found the provided tools very easy to use, love that you can play at any time to test out functionality
Looks better than the WA:IC with a lot of the same assets, some new, some missing.
Worst optimisation i've seen in my life! ive got an rx 6600 and im running 1080p on lowest settings and fail to get more than 50 fps. WTF?
