A lonely necromancer awakens in a dilapidated tower with one goal: to revive his lord and get revenge on those who sought him harm. With three days to prepare the ritual and scattered notes left in the tower, guide his hand. A serene walking simulator by the developer behind Star Stealing Prince.

Wow that was a lovely little experience - the visuals, music and story all tie in really nicely together. The game play is an interactive visual novel - simplistic but not in a negative way. I really enjoyed the journey and and am a sucker for the pixel aesthetic!

I originally played this game on itch.io, and honestly, even with all the other RPG Maker games I've played, it remains one of my favourites. Ronove is an incredible writer and storyteller, as well as game developer and artist, and this game showcases those talents of theirs best, with its well-written story, engaging gameplay that combines the mechanics of classic RPG Maker games and visual novels, well-designed environments and lovely art. I highly recommend playing it.
Rating:6/10 Life Eternal is okay overall. Its a nice shorter game with an okay story that is interesting enough to explore and learn more about. The both endings make sense and are well done but i kinda wished there was more background lore and more to it. It is more of a walking simulator which was fine by me. I felt like the story and the endings where good but not build upon enough to make it have an impact on you as the player near the end. I did like the skeletons you find and you find out they are your friends but i felt like that part needed a bit more to it. Its a simple interaction with a line of text that feels a little bit shallow. The game takes an hour to 100% and get all achievements and i thought it was made well ,like movement was good, exploration was fun but the story lacked a bit since i did feel everything new i discovered needed more story or background lore. Its free so check it out since its an interesting playthrough just don't expect something grandeur from it. It can enjoyed for what it is and i like these types of games.
RPG Maker strikes again! Life Eternal is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction. As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development. Like most RPG Maker shovelware and asset flips, the game features extremely low quality copy + pasted 2D retro pixel art, looks awful, and has even worse gameplay. RPG Maker is an absolutely terrible construction kit, and never results in games of any reasonable quality or value to gamers. Notably the developer here couldn't work out how to use RPG Maker to make an RPG... and that's the only thing RPG Maker can do properly... except it's not even very good for making RPGs. Instead, we have what is misleadingly, and frankly absolutely incorrectly described as a "walking sim", but those are exclusively immersive 3D rendered games. This is more like a crap, badly written e-book where you just move around JRPG style to each section of badly written anime club fanfiction text. It's truly a painfully bad experience. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, you can still feel ripped off.
