About
Libritopia is the library simulator where the books are real. Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Dostoevsky, Jules Verne and many others: all the great classics of world literature can be on your shelves, ready for readers who don't always know exactly what they want — and it's up to you to help them!
Manage a massive collection of literary works in a library that grows with you, with friends or alone. But a library is more than books: each visitor has a name, history and preferences. They request specific titles, return books late, disturb other readers, and sometimes get so frustrated they throw books at you.

Every day brings new tasks: books to repair, shelves to rearrange, and labels to create. And shipments of new titles never stop arriving! You can order titles by author, genre, or exact name, but surprises (and duplicates) may show up too. When you have more books than shelves, no problem: schedule a Donation Day and decide which duplicate volumes find a new home.

In Survival Mode, each run is scored and pressure builds every day — shipments keep coming, and when visitors lose patience, books fly. Right at your face. In Relaxed Mode, you build your dream library at your own pace, organize every shelf your way, and there's no game over.

All modes support online co-op so you can split tasks with friends and let the chaos reign — or go solo if you prefer to be one of those legendary hermit librarians. There's room for everyone here!

A collection of real public domain classics from world literature: if it was published and belongs to everyone, it's here for you to organize however you like
Returns, check-outs, damaged books and visitors with specific needs: the full bibliophile chaos package
Two game modes: Survival (more pressure and chaos every day) and Relax (no time limit and no books flying at your head)
Online co-op: share tasks with friends or a partner to unwind together (or create chaos, that's up to you)
Organize your shelves your way: by genre, author, year, country, color, or any criteria that only makes sense to you
Full library customization: walls, floors, windows, furniture, plants, paintings
Create your avatar: body type, hair, clothes and accessories
Try it on Steam Deck!
The Libritopia of January 2025 and the one you can play today are very different games. Since launch we've added NPC registration, a tablet feature, graphics updates, avatar customization, Steam achievements, Linux support, Relax Mode, and many new languages!
Much of this came directly from our community. Special events like the Book Donation Day were created by request to handle duplicate titles. Avatar customization was implemented based on player feedback, and we regularly add new open-access books suggested by the community so every player can take care of the titles they love.
Because like any good library, our collection is always growing.
Welcome, Librarian. Grab your stack of books and let's get started.

After falling in love with Tiny Bookshop, I decided to google if there were any other bookshop adjacent games. I found this, and honestly I love it. It seems to have everything you'd see in a real life library, including very dumb patrons. For instance, there is a registration station, in which your patrons can fill out info to get their library cards, and it’s mostly automatic although occasionally filling out name, today's date and getting their picture taken is just beyond their capabilities, so you have to do it for them. Also, there are "help" stations, in which you can help your patrons find a book they want but can’t find in the library (they’ll either ask for a specific author, a specific title, or a specific genre, and as you level up they’ll ask for between one and three books). Sometimes it's on the shelf and you grumble and hand it to them. Sometimes, you just don’t have the author or title they’re looking for, and in the first few levels, you can just tell them that. They’ll get mad and stomp off (occasionally throwing a book at you that knocks you over - the first time that happened I burst out laughing because it’s accompanied by a hilariously titled achievement). As you level up, though, eventually you can add their request to the library computer, and you will get what they want within a few days. When that happens, you can call them the next day before you open the library and they'll come back to get it. At first you have to run your own checkout desk and the separate book return desk, but as you level up, you are given “automatic” versions of those, which are run by new employees. There are so many additional decorations you can add to your library, including rugs, plants, paintings and eventually reading tables in which your patrons can read the books they've found. You can also paint pretty much everything in your library to the colors you want. You have an office, which has a computer, a coffee machine, and more shelves. You use the computer to open or close the library, choose your rewards when you gain a level, request specific books for your library and schedule a “donation day” in which you can give away duplicate copies of books you have in the library, and as you level up you can also expand your library, adding more space for everything in it. There is a dock behind your library, in which you can put damaged books in a wire cage to send them off for repairs, as well as four docks: new books, returned books, repaired books and requested books. I saw negative reviews talking about how these patrons are the dumbest sims NPCs ever, so I recommend playing this game in "relaxed" mode if you want something with zero stress. There is a “survival” mode in which you have to keep your patrons happy or you get fired, but the other mode is more my speed. You can take your time with everything, from sorting books, finding books for patrons, clearing the tables, whatever you need to do. The patrons have infinite patience so you can go at your own pace. All that said, this is a strong recommendation for this game. It's in early access, but so far I've seen zero bugs, and I've played it for nearly 17 hours.
Surprisingly addictive. Relax mode is a great way to unwind.
I'm glad I decided to check the game again. Really loved the idea of managing a library, but in the beginning, there wasn't a Relaxed version, and I'm awful with names in general - book names included, so naturally it was more stress than fun, because it was too chaotic for my liking. Now, after 11+ hours of playing the Relaxed version of it, I can say that I love it. I didn't encounter any problems with the game other than customers getting stuck near some objects - such as flower pots, but after moving the object in question, the problem fixes itself, so no complaints there. It can get a bit repetitive obviously; there is only so much stuff you can do in a library simulation, but it is a pleasant game to play. Also, love the fact that you can decorate and change the colors of almost everything in the building. I think it's worth the money. Thank you, Devs!
Cute little library simulator. Very fast paced though. Did struggle to keep up. Lots of cool features in the game. Product recieved for free!

Great game. A little addictive
This game has some problems, imo. Between the slow walking and the only holding one book (unless I'm doing it wrong) it's a slow and frustrating start. Why do the checkout and the return programs need to close on the pc's on the checkout and return desks? I'll continue playing it with decent updates but for now I've seen enough. Also the timer to open or finish is a little frustrating, one or the other I could understand so you could use one of them to finish up tasks/clean up or organisation. So I do not recommend it at the moment, but hopefully will in the future.
