After the latest update, the game has become practically unplayable. Track loading gets stuck at around 50% and can take several minutes (in my case, over 10 minutes at one stage), even though the PC is otherwise idle — CPU usage during the "freeze" is minimal, so this isn't a hardware issue (i7-13700K, RTX 4090, NVMe 5.0). On top of that, the game frequently fails to save settings — every launch it asks about driver skill level again and resets my configuration, even after a clean Windows install and with Steam Cloud sync disabled. The rFactor2 engine LMU is built on has always had long loading times, but what's happening now isn't just "slow" — it's actual freezing that prevents sessions from starting at all. I've tried most of the known workarounds (clearing DirectX/shader cache, verifying game files, disabling plugins, reinstalling GPU drivers) with no lasting fix. It's a shame, because the driving simulation and physics model are genuinely excellent. But in its current technical state, the game is frustrating to the point where a practice session can take longer to load into than to actually drive. Can't recommend a purchase until the developers fix loading stability.
