i can now speak french fluently
First and foremost, no it's not perfect. But it's free and frankly despite not exploring everything it has to offer yet, it's already passed my expectations. Pros: -Varied content, lessons, and minigames to help keep the otherwise flashcard-like learning engaging and fresh -Material is likely to be encountered in everyday life, while also skipping over a lot of concepts that over-saturate language learning apps thanks to the focus on nouns. -Controls are intuitive if you've used other VR based programs/games -Entirely free, no content locked behind paywalls (that I can tell) Cons: -Voices are text to speech rather than actual humans or AI, causing some low quality pronunciations -Some objects are unrecognizable visually due to the very basic visual style -Text that shows what an object is called rarely actually shows properly on the screen, usually being cut off by some invisible barrier -Automatic hints are a little too frequent/overbearing -I was playing to learn Russian, and an occasional word was translated to something understandably similar rather than the actual noun (IE, "salad" instead of "lettuce")

Language Lab is an Early Access free to play VR language education game. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok, was understandable. Has plenty of languages to choose from. I tried English to German, which i know some of. The controllers are used in this program. There is a completely modeled House and Whole town to explore. Currently, has 11 lessons with 9 more coming soon. Has a game called Vocab climber which tests your memory of items in the lessons. Try this, if you wanna learn some basics of languages.

It needs to work
I gave this a go and it's a pretty interesting concept. To be fair, I don't think that this really suits my learning style as I think that I am better at learning from material that is written down. That said I like the idea. I did the Russian lessons. I have been learning Russian on Duolingo and this did back up what I have already learned on Duolingo but I don't feel like I've learned anything additional except the words for "cushion", "t-shirt", and "shoes". I was under for about forty minutes so that doesn't seem like a lot of progress. As I say, this probably not my learning style. In the Russian language there are 9 lessons, one game, one Social Setting, and a couple of free-roam areas in the demo, and I call it a demo because, although this is free, it is pushing you towards signing up for a monthly subscription to get more content. At the moment, I would not say that there is enough content to make it worthwhile signing up for a subscription. There are about another 9 locked lessons and a total of 32 including free, locked, and those awaiting completion. I doubt that this is more than a few hours-worth of content. I know that it's early days and things may improve but, at the moment, I won't be shelling out any cash. My main problem with this game/system is with the hit-boxes for objects. In the numbers lesson there is a large board filled with numbers that you have to press in response to the spoken number but, with my Vive wands, I found it very difficult to press just the one button and ended up mashing two most times. On the other hand, when I was playing the game "Ultimate Ascent" which involves climbing up an endless column of objects in response to the spoken name of the objects, the hit-boxes were frustratingly small leaving me clicking all over the place trying to get a grip on the object. This left me with an aching hand and meant that I was more focused on finding the sweet-spot to grip than on remembering the names of the objects. I am giving this a thumbs-up as I like the concept and I think that it has a lot of potential and I am aware that it is Early Access but it's marginal at this time.
Really enjoying this so far, totally different than other learning forms I have used. I have only played the first few lessons at this point, but so far the simple style is really immersive and I'm looking forward to experiencing more. It will be great to see this concept developed further into the future.
C'est rigolo, hâte d'essayer d'autres langues !
구독형 결제 시스템 2일이면 다 끝나버리는 분량. 업데이트도 하는지 안하는지도 모름. 수업 하나하나 퀼리티가 수준이 너무 낮음. 그냥 단어 배우기 수준 현재까지 영어쪽 다 해본결과 유치원 수준만도 못한것만 나옴.
比背单词有趣多了,可以通过游戏来加深记忆
