Fun little game.
You cannot find much on Sun bay Games, which seemed to me, maybe a few people starting out from a school project, but that does not mean they cannot create a good game. Developers are only as good as the people associated with it. They are the dreamers, but let's take a fast look at what I like and what I feel needs to improve if they are to survive. What I liked: Old style: Hunky guys, large women, ugly monsters, big axes, sword, wizards, are a great appeal to games, even in the crudest of forms. Music: Not a bad rock sound track that does have the Age of Barbarian homage to it. Easy: Perhaps too easy, for a lot of elements go into making a game, like film, or a comic. Here I found it not hard to pick up. Self Made: You can appreciate that even if was one guy in his basement making a game, that overall he completed his task. Artwork: Some of the cut scenes of the concept artwork used as story elements came across visually appreciative. What I feel needs to improve, and boy there is a lot. Engine: Unity may have been the wrong choice here to really get the animation movement to shine. The rendition of these characters with shadow, textures, and even basic proper action movements could have helped the overall presentation of the game. Here the flaws get exposed. Inconsistent story telling: Switching back and forth from serious storytelling to cliche Americanized lines don't fit what your trying to do. If you do fantasy, then do fantasy, not "I hate these guys" as bad comedic slang. Doesn't work. No Customization: Distance the player, its rigid and boring. Games have evolved way past this type of presentation. You put gear on or upgrade items, it should reflect it. Rigid abilities: No creativity, mutation, or anything the player can grow with. It learned the wrong things from Darkest Dungeon. Side Quests: Offer no point, and you can see in the writing how this was not a wise choice. This should done a professional level. Even with a point and click atmosphere, the audience must enjoy the process. Too pricey: Way to pricey for a six hour game, even as a base game. World Map: Very crude, confusing, and not a great presentation. Rendering: I spoke before how this may not have been the best engine choice, or that their modelers really came off like a 13 year old rendering this game. You are going to have sexual characters. Their execution matters for they draw the eye, but here they draw you to the mistakes. My final take: I am giving this a very marginal thumbs up, because I have a great deal of respect for anyone who takes the chance in creating ANY game, but this was pushing it. It is a crude homage to Darkest Dungeon with none of the flavor. Even Age of Barbarian's crudeness had solid execution. Hopefully this developer gets the experience and people it needs, but I would not recommend this game at full price even as a board game in a store. Just too many flaws for my liking, but the game does do what it says it will do. See the actual game play in video in the discussion section before throwing down money for this game. If this had a marginal selection I would pick that instead of thumbs up. This game could have been way better under a major developer, but for what it is, its okay, but is okay what you are trying to in game making. Even with additions. The game barely makes it. There is nothing new or creative about Lands of Sorcery. My score. 1.9 out of 5
I wanted to like this game. I really did. Sword and sorcery games are few and far between and it was recommended to me as something I might enjoy having played Age of Barbarian. Unfortunately, this plays like a Final Fantasy knock-off with Poser artwork of amazons in place of the Art Nouveau drawings of Yoshitaka Amano. The fights are repetitive, the artwork static, the cut-scenes few and far between. To make matters worse, the highly promoted harem feature only offers two poses for each maiden, (four if you count the naked options) and I wound up rescuing the same maiden three times in a row before Chapter Five. Go spend your money on the Crainsoft Patreon instead.
一個十分傳統的回合型策略小品遊戲, 步調偏緩慢, 內容不長, 中文化只做了一半...畫面還算精美, 建議有閒的可以考慮
I got this game thinking "ah what the hell, sword and sorcery is incomplete without some obligatory nudity" and was still disappointed. Normally the mechanics and UI of such titles would be simple and easy to understand, the difficulty pretty easy (at base), and the grind would be rewarded with some "sexy" stuff... but no, that's not really what you get here. Instead you get a terrible UI, high-difficulty from having overly complex mechanics trying to emulate "Darkest Dungeon," and lackluster character art with ugly CG nudity. The art style suffers from being completely disjointed. If the painterly style were present throughout the whole thing would be better for it. Instead we get a bunch of what look like pre-made "sexy CG woman" characters that look like they jumped out of an even more terrible 3D dating sim. This game is ugly because it specifically did not lean into an actual "Sword and Sorcery" art direction. CG pretty much looks like the exact opposite of Frank Frazetta or Boris Vallejo artwork. So much for being a "love letter" to S&S. If you're going to get this game out of curiosity like me, do what I did and wait for it to be like 70-90% off during a sale. It is not worth the listed price of $25. I have purchased games with completely hand-drawn assets at full price and spent less.
好无聊………………
Moche, combats pourris : sans intérêt
This game is getting good. Now that the difficulty has been fixed I can enjoy it a lot more. We need more sword and sorcery games.
i like it there really are not too many games with this genre setting
Great strategy game in a sexy fantasy setting. The developer is still updating the game, I just started a new play through after a free update with new skins!
