Lab Craft Survival is a very unusual specimen for Steam. Instead of being a 2D retro pixel platformer, we instead get a survival/crafting game framed in the format of a 2D top down brawler. You control a lab experiment ball of slime and move around, eating stuff, collecting materials and building structures. It's a very lopsided game. There's a great and welcome depth to the game design, with lightweight RPG stats and advancement coupled with survival and crafting mechanics. On the other hand, the implementation is laughably poor quality, with hand drawn/MS-Paint tier graphics, locked controls, and the clunkiest and most unpolished interface you could imagine. In many ways it's a shame that so many good ideas are completely wasted on such a poor quality implementation.
Just wanted to say...this game is ♥♥♥♥...but its the good type of ♥♥♥♥ y'know. Anyway i'll be back when the developers make a Lab Craft Survival 2 with better Controls, UI/UX, and most important of all, better 2D graphics, notice i wrote 2D...YES, it doesn't have to be 3D or even 2.5, just better 2D graphics with better and more easier to comprehend/work with effects and animations and whatever. I love games with deep mechanics and systems so i hope they make a sequel or just update this one with all i wrote up there...any is OKAY. Anyway didn't get past tutorial cause of the awful UI/UX and Controls but if you can endure that then ride on, i'm recommending this. edit; just wanna say, i refunded this even after buying for below a dollar cause i'm poor and 80 cents is like a million dollars to me. But i recommend buying it and just leaving it in ur library to help the devs with the funds to make better stuff y'know.
An interesting game, a simple but addictive indie toy to use the skills of adaptation in an unknown environment. Top for your money
wait what?
Best .79 cents i have ever spent! Complicatred but good!
green booger runs, hunts, I still don't understand what exactly she does, but it's all in 2D and it's cool
