Information / Review English
Falconers' Gate (FG) is a medieval action RPG with tactical elements developed by Bastion Studio (FR). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rT_8JrTHtjw
Gameplay / Story
History of Normandy: The Duchy of Normandy was a historical state in what is now northern France. It is largely congruent with today's Normandy region. He went 911 from the Treaty of Saint-Clair-sur-Epte between King Charles III. of West Francia and the Viking chieftain Rollo. The duchy was named after the Norse people of the Normans. From 1066 to 1204, as a result of the Norman conquest of England, the Dukes of Normandy were also kings of England, with the exception of Robert Curthose (1087–1106), eldest son of William the Conqueror but unsuccessful pretender to the English throne; and Gottfried V (1144–1150). In 1202 Philip II of France declared Normandy dissolved and confiscated it by force of arms in 1204. n the kingdom of France, the duchy was occasionally deposed as an appanage to be ruled by a member of the royal family. However, after 1469 it became permanently attached to the royal domain, although the title was occasionally given as a badge of honor to younger members of the royal family. The last French duke of Normandy in this sense was Louis XVII, duke from 1785 to 1789. Now to the game: offers a medieval/fantasy world that relies on realism. at the beginning you select a character such as a knight, archer etc. and put on the equipment that suits you and you feel most suitable and you can go into battle with your army. From now on, your task is to manage your own army and, if necessary, to defend it and rearm it. The challenging and realistic real-time battles make you feel like you are in the middle of a huge battle. Strategic skill is not the only thing you need to survive the battles. In order to survive, you should master a large number of melee and ranged weapons and equip your characters well, because every fight is different and if you don't upgrade, it will be over quickly. So the composition of your people dictates the music and mass battles are also involved. The game is very reminiscent of other games like the Mount and Blade series, but has its own unique charm and depth.
Per
+ medieval history + many freedoms & customization options + some enemy types + dynamic combat system + good soundtrack + many setting options + fair price
cons
- Music eventually becomes monotonous
Conclusion
La Porte des Fauconniers : Guerre Médiévale is an insider tip in this genre and scores with a medieval story and a dynamic combat system.
First of all, many thanks to the developer who made this key available to us for the group. Here you can find more good reviews from others and me at and if you liked the review, then we would appreciate a thumbs up.

Information / Review Deutsch
Pro
+ mittelalterliche Geschichte + viele Freiheiten & Anpassungsmöglichkeiten + einige Gegnertypen + dnamisches Kampfsystem + guter Soundtrack + viele Einstellungsmöglichkeiten + fairer Preis
Kontra
- Musik wird irgendwann eintönig
Fazit
Opening/ Information
Reading a review is not enough? Want to see some footage? Check the link and watch some game footage for yourself and decide if this game is worth your time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rT_8JrTHtjw La Porte des Fauconniers : Guerre Médiévale is a medieval Strategic game with hack and slash elements similar to the Mount & Blade Franchise, created with the Unity Engine. This is the first game created by Bastion Studio (FR)who is entering the world of Steam and has big shoes to fill.
Gameplay / Story
Yeha well, there is no Story äääääh.. hey look there Peasants have arisen! And they are far better equip then you my liege? My king? My Lord? I'm actually not sure who you are, but you are someone in this game, and you are allowed to have 3 other someone's with weapons in your army. Yes, that is the first scenario, and I had to abuse every mechanic I could to win this fight. The enemies are far more than you, and they have not such problems as limited number of arrows or Spears. But let's start at the beginning, you can choose your Guy and equip him with whatever you want and then get yourself a nice 3 packs of dudes. Trust me, ignore the Archer and go straight to AXE! You know what you can do with an axe? You can chop trees, shields, dudes, backs and backs of dudes running away from you. So did I charge first and tried to kill people? Hell no, you can't know what these peasants have, so I have used the formation button to get my spear guys in a phalanx formation that did nothing at all and kited the enemies to position, so my axe guys could charge into their backs. And well that's the whole strategy I used the whole 60 minutes, and it kinda worked. Stabbing every enemy fleeing the battlefield. Afterwords it was level uptime, getting more units for my army and getting my guy a bit stronger and then next scenario killing people. That's currently all, let's hope more will come.
Pro
+ a lot of different Classes to choose (Sword Archer, Javelin, Spear Axe all from level 1 gear to level 4 gear) + Unique hero with 3 different talent trees + Your minions also have a talent tree + formations look great and the attack animation is decent + Projectiles are flying the right way
Contra
- AI is suicidal - The Command to shoot is poorly displayed, causing me to miss more than I wished to miss - a short in game tutorial would be great to explain a few game mechanics - in the current state there is not much content
Suggestion Box
Ah, yes I have some, I enjoyed the game a lot, but there are a few things I would wish to have in this game -> Axe people should have a level up skill for throwing axes -> Swordsmen should have Wardogs as perk to open up the enemy formation -> Javelins should be retaken to replenish the ammo count -> More slots and points for your army would be great -> Let the perks be stronger in the single-player game
Conclusion/ Who will enjoy the game?
La Porte des Fauconniers : Guerre Médiévale offers a nice game with unique units and a wonderful effort for a Mount & Blade game So who will enjoy this game? Do you like smashing things and run with soldiers while smashing far more things? You love the sentence : Has Potential? Well in This case that game is exactly what you need! I recommend checking the AWG group for more detailed reviews
Although there are only the foundations laid, we can already foresee the potential and the challenge that the game can bring, the strategy and the good use of the types of units as well as the formations is essential to succeed in winning battles, but the progression of the character and his units obviously brings a significant plus that will make your life much easier in case of difficulty. If you liked Mount & Blade or Conqueror's Blade there is a good chance that you like La Porte des Fauconniers. Despite the early access and even if the game clearly lacks polish, I have not encountered any crashes or big bugs and I manage to run it at +20 FPS in Medium on my old laptop which at more 6 or 7 years old.
