These devs should not create another game because clearly they don't know how to create functional, fair games which a middle school game developing enthusiast could achieve with a genre as uncomplex as VN and Match 3. I retract my previously positive review. Avoid this game. The match 3 minigame is TRASH. How can you give us a limited amount of moves when the board is 100% randomly generated? That means you will waste hours trying to beat a board until RNG decides to stop wasting your time. Godawful... I can't even enjoy the story now because there are so many of these stupid minigames gatekeeping the actual narrative gameplay. What a waste. I'm going to uninstall now without knowing what happens in the end. This game should be part of a master class in how not to design a visual novel
Hello, - story ok - interface : horrible - mach 3 : good - replayability : awful (see interface description) - tutorial : basic - mature content : what mature content ??? Watch TV ads to see more... Conclusion : avoid unless bored
Preemptively giving this a negative review in the hopes that Steam will stop recommending me porn games. This is NOT a habit I have
I got this game on sale a long time ago and I had dropped it back in 2021, three years ago—I understand why. Don't get me wrong, this visual novel's high quality when it comes to production in the design and art! Sprites have minimal animation, intro "cut scenes," the CGs look good for events and there's some fun extra mechanics like checking "Quacker" (twitter lol) on your phone to get more hints and information that helps you in the game play portion (candy crush great value version). Story wise with minimal spoilers, this game is meant to be replayed as the reader gathers more information about the story, but at the same time there's not many changes that makes it interesting for the reader to read between each play through, and the standard "skip read text" function doesn't work at all. I mean, what if you accidentally skip ONE line that's slightly different in 30 minutes of the same route you've read before? The translation seems to be fine, but the story is nothing super special. There's an attempt at some shocking plot twists and crumbs are dropped for the reader to figure things out, but you'll probably figure out whats going on way before any of the characters in the novel will. It would be satisfying if the plot twists weren't so obvious. In stark contrast, the ending of the game's plot is complete nonsense that you could not predict as the game pretends you totally could have seen this coming with the knowledge given as SPOILERS: your character has a contract with a demon fox that is never explained, and there's also other demons that are manipulating your friends that also use medication for contracts or something??? It's not very coherent and it feels like for 14 hours of game play I should have gotten some more information to make the ending pay off instead of reading the same route 4 times. Our protagonist is able to use his weird demon fox lady to make people speak their truest thoughts... sometimes? This is done with a weird stripping candy crush game that can sometimes give really bad RNG, and if you didn't save you've gotta haul all the way back to where you were before. If you got this game for dirt cheap it's probably worth your money for time, but that's not to say all the time will be super interesting. Just make sure you save a good amount and don't expect too much of the title.
Boring but Honoka is cute aff
What on EARTH was this game? It starts off interesting and fun for a while, but it is marred by the worst match 3 minigame I ever played. Calling it a match 3 game is really an insult to Match 3 games too. You can't swap two pieces that are side by side, no all you can do is select a piece to move it to the top of the column. That's it. And the mini-game is marred by really bad RNG. You can get a starting setup with no moves at all to remove pieces. Bonuses show up at random it feels like. You can use challenges to try to get more moves but even those have RNG behind them. Seriosly. At this rate just roll a dice and let me pass based on that. It might have even been more fun that way. As for the story, I found it interesting for Chapters 1 - 6. Then it fell apart fast. The game doesn't really end or resolve much I feel like. And one of the 'bad' endings on one of the loops you just...end. You didn't die or anything, no the girl just looks at you oddly then its over? What kind of ending is that???? Overall I think the game would be much more fun if it figured out first what kind of game it wanted to be. Do you want to be a match 3 game? Then make the match 3 good! Do you want to be a visual novel? Then make the story good and RESOLVE IT WELL. As it is it tries to be both, and does poorly at both in the end.
I think a demon possessed me to buy this.
I wanted to like it, but the way it ended was a mess The art style and music are good, with the CGs looking great. The gameplay was very interesting, I liked it quite a bit, though when you have to keep doing it thanks to
going through all the loops, especially for getting all the achievements it VERY quickly becomes annoying, more specifically the final ones do, because you don't have special words until you do very specific things AND THEN go through the WHOLE STORY again, and the DOUBLE RNG is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid for that boss fight with the teacher.
Though if you don't care for achievements you should be fine. I only had big trouble with the last 2 sections because of all the increased RNG from the challenges and all that, with only some of the earlier ones being a bit tough. Finally the story, at first it was interesting, I found myself curious on how it was gonna go, but as I kept going and more and more layers kept appearing it just seemed like it was trying too much, as in too many things at once, too many layers, too many themes, it was a mess keeping track. But really the WORST part is the ending, oh my goodness, it was so ass. The normal ending was 'fine', and so was the good one, but they both answer pretty much nothing, and no justice is done, but the worst offender has to be the true ending, that has GOT to be the worst excuse for an ending I've seen, once again still answers very little, and there's basically no conclusion, no satisfaction, once again no answers, no justice, no nothing, it was just terrible and sad. At least I would consider the good ending to be the best ending out of all of them. But if I were to put it in other words, the game feels unfinished, like there should be more chapters or a second game or something to explain the ending, or explain a whole lot more, or just give more context, it feels like this is like 50% to 70% of a game and it's missing the ending portion. Speaking of answering nothing, it was quite funny but also terrible that every time they got anywhere close to a 'reveal', 90% of the time it was already something I knew, sure confirmation is nice, but I sure would like new information, ACTUAL ANSWERS. Another bad thing were the epilogues, you can only check 1 at a time, and to check another you have to reload, that was annoying. Leaving on a more positive note, what happens with the whole
fake end in chapter 5
was actually quite interesting, I did not see that coming, which really got me curious on how it was gonna end, boy was I disappointed. For the bad, besides anything above, I noticed a few typos and one text that shouldn't be where it was. And the feedback from the buttons feels slow, like I press and i have to wait for a whole animation before the thing does what I want it to, that was just boring and annoying. I also heavily disliked the fact that during gameplay your challenges have a chance at doing nothing at all, man that definitely sucked. Overall, I really wanted to like it, and at first it seemed quite interesting both the story and the gameplay, but because of those terrible endings that don't answer much, I can't really recommend it which sucks. At least the CGs look great.
