While playing this game, some weird dog came out of nowhere, hit me with a stick, said "NO HORNY!!! BONK!!", and mysteriously vanished But seriously... well-written game with queer characters and ritualistic BDSM. Wow. I'm seriously glad I own this and can play it whenever I want

The storyline wasn't too appealing. I finished the game but really pushed to finish it to the ends. None of the characters really varied in personality by too much.

Great game about mysticism, bdsm, queer, non-monogamy. It's a rare and tasty combination of ingredients :)

Loved the story, the art, atmosphere. And very queer-friendly. Much love for this work of art. I'm a big fan of Sophie Campbell, so I was ecstatic to learn the art was inspired by her work. The story explores various mature themes, such as BDSM (optional scenes) and occult while the enby lead Leo recollects what happened that lead them to have no recollection of recent events and a pounding headache. A quite diverse cast, and many enjoyable scenes.

This is a very interesting game and after finishing it I have somewhat ambivalent feelings about it. Above all, it's a queer kink game that explores a lot of fetishes and non-normative sexualities without ever going pornographic. Its most interesting moments were the various interactions between the non-binary, polygamous protagonist Leo and their three "love interests", Naomi, Mo and Vicky. The way their personalities, preferences and inhibitions mixes both in the casual interactions and hook-ups felt very genuine, and the variety in sex scenes is pretty amazing, with the player having a lot of control over what's going on. Sadly, the same can't be said about the story, which only gives you an illusion of control, and not a very convincing one at that. You can't avoid any crucial events, or even romances. Consequences of most that you so are very short-term, or non-existent. The choice system cretes an illusion of depth, letting you wait out choices and showing extra dialogue options if you hesitate, which in a way resembles the flow of real-life conversations way better than the typical visual novel systems. The only issue is that this does not translate into real complexity/branching of the story. In a playthrough when I tried to spite Dagger (the occult-fascinated roommate that coerces the protagonist into an unhealthy "relationship" which is at the core of the game's main plot) as much as possible I received nearly an identical results as in the one where I went with most of her requests. And even at my first approach, the ending was pretty underwhelming, making me sad that I can't just ditch the whole occult subplot and interact more with other characters on my next playthroughs. Visually, I think this will be very much a matter of taste – the arstyle quickly grew on me and I enjoyed how both gritty and expressive it was, but I can see people being off-putted by it. The lack of colour definitely does not imply a lack of personality, as the game has that in droves and I liked how non-explicit, but still effective the imagery was in the sex scenes. The soundtrack was really climatic, fitting the themes and artstyle really well. In the end, I enjoyed Knife Sisters and can quite confidently recommend buying it – at the very least, it's a very unique and memorable experience, created with a lot of quality and writing talent. There are things it could've done much better, but was still solid enough to be very enjoyable most of the time.
