I SUGGEST YOU DO NOT BUY THIS GAME UNLESS YOU HAVE MANY FRIENDS TO PLAY WITH. There are no players left playing and while it is true that my review reflected the game it probably doesn't anymore - My review was in 2017 June. Slightly changed my review. Last updated on June the 3rd. After 300 hours of gameplay, I am ready to write a review The game is, as advertised, an RPG game. Although level cap is 30 after level 30 there's still some stuff to do; You can get so much better gear than your average gear. To review this game it's important to explain how looting system works; About looting: While looting items there are a few things to look for - 1: Quality. That determines how good your damage/armor on your equipment you found is. 2: Level requirements. Stats scale with level requirements on items so you could have 2 legendary swords 100 quality and 1 is better because it has higher level requirement. 3: Prefix and suffix. Yellow items have a prefix and suffix while blue items only have a prefix. with that being said, it can be extremely hard to find some really good items because it's all randomized so it leaves place for a good variety of weapon and armor range and endless possibilities. I think that's a plus because it makes a use to extensive farming. You don't just get to level 30 then it's over and you have nothing to do because it's near impossible to have perfect items so you are bound to have a lot of time to farm. It's important to mention the game is in early access; Yes it has a few bugs but they are actively working on fixing them. The developpers are active and work hard to fix the bugs before bringing new contents (Which is what should always be done. Resolve issues first then add more stuff). The game has a lot of potential - if the game gets enough attention and is developed properly it will turn out into an amazing game. As long as the developers keep pouring their heart in it we can expect something great out of it - Great game concept and infinite possibilities. They are open to suggestions and they wish nothing but the best for their game. At first I was a bit perplex but in the end I noticed there wasn't much to worry about. The game's developement is going well and the developers are listening to their players feedback. When this game gets out of Early Access it'll be an epic game so get used to the game and get experience within the game before other players while you still can! The community is nice for most part; Most of the people will be nice to you if you're nice to them. Of course it's not everyone but the vast majority of players are rather friendly. Reality being told; All the rest of the reviews about leveling are accurate. Leveling will be a pain and there's no alternate way to level up than grinding and killing monsters - You can't get boosted - It'll take you hours (Yes, hours) just to get to level 10. The developers stick to the idea that they did this "so you can't power level in 1 hour" when my opinion is there's no reason since it's an unfinished product and if there was like 100 levels (Or at least 60-80 like in most online RPGs) things would be different. Although everything leads to believe no one is happy with the changes and leveling slower (Look forums and reviews, everyone will agree leveling is terribly long.), to this day the developpers still think they did the right thing by nerfing party experience along with adding a barrier that makes people lose experience for being in party. That's right, for each one level you are apart from the highest level in your party, you lose 10% experience, however for each party member close to you when you kill monsters you gain 20% more experience (Previously was a lot more than 20%). If it wasn't enough to add one measure to stop you from leveling, they added two. (Updated) As of lately they said they would look into the experience. As of lately they have added the adventurer's guild; it's still in progress but it's worth mentioning they also announced they were working on a new end-game area (Which they announced new end-game content on the first weekend the game was released, yet nothing so far). They have hired additional people to their team which should make it easier for the game to progress. They have added one quest (Just one very very basic quest) as of lately. The truth is the game is progressing but really slowly, nothing wrong with that but it is a fact. Most of the players who have the highest play time on this game don't sign in anymore for the following reasons: 1) After nerfing the rate you gain for honor(experience), no one wants to compete against the person who has 25m honor on the ladder leaderboards or even compete at all. 2) They all have stuff that is more than good-enough for now and are waiting for content that's worth playing. 3) The old school players don't sign in and a lot of people play to play with their friends so the interaction becomes dull / they have to make new friends and adapt. 4) Did I mention after grinding the same map for hundreds of hours/almost 2 months people get tired? Although the game is not perfect and sometimes things seem to go in a strange way, I still recommend this game because overall it's a fun game and you can drop a lot of hours into it if you like grinding online RPG games. It's nice to play with friends and you can still go solo and have fun; People are rather friendly so it's usually easy to make friends. It is a very honest review, no candy coating and most people in the community will agree with 99% with what I wrote here and most of it is very positive so it's something to look foward to. tl;dr - Great game with unique and nice looting system. - Early access game - Few bugs but getting fixed one by one - Active and friendly developpers. - Slow leveling. - New content will probably get added as time goes. - Friendly Community

Loved Seyken and now am Loving Kingdom of Loot. Can't wait to see what the developers do with this game. This game has the potential to be great!
Since my playtime is nearing 30 Hours this is my honest review. Positive Things : -Great developers, they have been fixing things these last few day. -The developers response to form post and are honestly trying to get everyone opinion of the game and what needs to change to improve the game. - Controller support. - Alot of classes to choose from and has the names of some future classes TBD - 16-bit MMO - Loot (keep playing after max level there is gear to get that is much better than what you most likely have) - Friendly Player Community in game. -Devs said they are planning to release one new map every month! (will be nice If they can meet their goal) -Only $6 Negative Things : - Since I played before the stream release I was really hoping that the max level would be higher than lvl 30 at release because you can get max level in about 15 hours if no one boosts you. - Controller: Could not get PS$ remote to get detected. But using the steam controller you can use the thumbstick to move (unlike Xbox) and you can even type in game with it. - You can’t change the hotkeys. - Still alot of bugs in game. But just in the last few days they have fixed most of the major ones - annoying coin drop sounds needs to be quitter than the other sounds Overall: This game is Definitely worth the $6 asking price even at launch. Even a lot of new triple A title charge $60+ and only get around 30 hours of gameplay (so $2/hour play). But KOL at $6 is at around $0.50/hour play if you are only getting to level 30 more if you continue. The game is fun to play with or without friends (make new ones in game!) despite the negative points. In my opinion if the dev team keeps up their good work since this is only opening weekend of early access I believe that most if not all of my negative points will go away.
I asked a refund and the reason is: it overloads CPU to 99% (almost crashed my PC lol) This said, I'll leave a positive review. The game is not bad. It's incredibly early access game but it works. Yes there are bugs but game was functionnal. I was able to move the character around, to kill enemies, to talk with some NCPs to sell/buy. Stats points were working, skill trees are very small right now but you can start to allocate few points. It gives a quick idea of the game and its potential. Just yes, it's early access. It requires works, alot of works. And it's the reason of my refund. Too often I bet money on early access projects that never came together. Those devs are a small team and so far they made no projects that would allow us to know if this project will end up in something else than money grabbing. It's the big unknown. So I'll wait a little longer before puttin money into it for real. Maybe by the time this game becomes something better, the price will increase but its fine. Looking at their youtube videos, they seem to work really hard and they would deserve that slighly higher amount of money. If they make it throught, they have a great chance to count me in their future players and maybe DLC buyers. Wish them good luck with their project. And to those who were whinning about controls... I was able to play the game with both mouse and/or keyboard.. you can click on enemies and objects... no need to use space bar if you don't like it... :/ it is really a bad reason to leave a negative review honestly. Shame! And probably in future, players will be able to modify key binding so why so much hate? It's just temporary controls. Instead of whining, bring ideas to devs and encourage them.
I don't even know where to begin... PROS: -Nice artstyle/graphics -nice menu look -good monster design for a classic style CONS: -controls are wonky and clunky -game is super boring and repetitive -if you want to get rid of a character, you have to go to their website to do so -if you go to their website and try to sign in to get rid of said character, it says that your login is incorrect when you are already logged into Steam -manual unequipping and re-equipping instead of Diablo style right click to equip and switch to better gear -when creating a new character, if you click new to give them a name, you cannot back out and undo that or even go back to pick a different class without closing the entire game -its the most grindy and tedious game I have ever played -all the same enemies over and over and over again -it takes forever to level up -controller support is a broken mess -even if you "calibrate" your controller, the inventory button doesn't work -all interfaces and menus are mouse control only -for some reason on the overworld, when selecting an area to visit, it shows the A button from your controller even if you are not using one -the attack sound is shockingly loud and unpleasant -went to the beginners guide and it said there are only 6 enemies!?! -if you do make the mistake of using a controller with this game, you can't move using the thumbstick -you can't attack and move like you can in Diablo or games like that -for some reason they show all the loot on the ground all over whether you can pick it up or not -there were quest items that were just laying on the ground and I couldn't pick them up to progress -the game is overall extremely unpleasant to play At this point there is no way in a million years I could ever recommend this game. Right now I can't even get past the 30 minute mark without unistalling it due to agravation over terrible controls, not being able to get rid of my character and so many broken controls and features. Avoid this game like the plague until they completely overhaul and redo things to the point where it is actually fun and not the boring, meaningless snoozefest it is right now. This is the only game out of nearly 900 games that I own that I refuse to play because of how broken and crappy the whole thing is currently. I refuse to play any more until the game releases in full.
I felt scammed
someone who can actually do their job and have a brain needs to take over this game
The sprites, animation and overall style of this game looks amazing, but aside from looking very pretty there's not much to even comment on. You spam the attack button and your char makes an auto attack on whatever is closest to you, that sums up pretty much the entire gameplay at the moment. There's some randomized gear that adds a minor statboost so you can start auto attacking things with a different sprite and higher level and some skills that do little of note aside from adding some damage. My major gripe here isn't the lack of gameplay in an early access game but rather that I can't find a development schedule or any sort of future plans for this game on steam or their site so I'm assuming they don't have any, I don't see how anyone can recommend a game that lacks basic gameplay and at the same time has 0 transparency on what they plan to work towards. At the moment what you'll get is a very pretty shallow game that gives you maybe half an hour to an hour before you get bored, and some vague promises of unknown features and improvements that might be added in the future. So yeah, caveat emptor.
TL;DR Last loaded in May 2018, no updates and 4/5 servers Offline, unable to connect to the last. Save yourselves the trouble; just like their previous project, the developers have abandoned this game. Anyone remember Seyken? Yeah. Same people. Same result to boot; no news, no updates.. paying customers left hanging with a flagrant disregard to their support. .. which is a real shame.. this game has (had) some serious potential.
It's the same grind over and over and over and over, with very little level progression. If it wasn't for the fact people could power lvl you to 20+ in no time, this game would probably have a low lvl population and actually grow. Also, the server pings randomly spike to insane numbers with little to no people online. Hard to play a game like this..
