I have 100%'d KH1, KH2, and Re:CoM, and am in the process of 100%'ing BBS.
I never watched the movies on this version (I watched them when my husband and I still had the collection on Ps4).
[h3]Kingdom Hearts 1[/h3] is very much just a polished up version of what it used to be. Movement is a little jank, and the camera does kinda like to just do what it wants sometimes. Its okay, we still love you, Mr. Cameraman.
[h3]Kingdom Hearts 2[/h3] is personally my favorite from the collection (solely because they murdered my favorite by making it only have a video... RIP 358/2.) It handles relatively well, and its interesting, and the worlds are pretty neat (not to mention the Gummi Ship Missions for it are much better, despite some of them making me a bit motion sick.) Only real qualm I have with it is the fact that in order to defeat a boss, they need to be hit with a finisher (you can circumvent this by using magic if you so choose.)
[h3]Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories[/h3] is... Well, it's a game. It's actually a remake of sorts of Chain of Memories which was only really a 2D plane but transferring it into a 3D plane kinda turned it into a bit of a headache. It's definitely at least good for a playthrough.
[h3]Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep[/h3] is interesting to me, because each of the three characters have a unique moveset. Terra is a bit difficult to play with, at least for me, but I do really like the mobility of Ventus and Aqua. Only downside is it was originally for the PsP if I recall and it still feels very much like a PsP game with how it handles mechanics and such. But it is still very fun in my opinion!
They're all fantastic games in their own right, but I would recommend against some things unless you're:
A) A thrillseeker
B) A completionist
C) So nostalgic you just [i]gotta [/i]
I would not recommend doing everything on a file on the hardest difficulty, especially when Critical mode is involved. I would also recommend against trying to do the speedrun achievement, no changing your equipment, and no continues on KH1 all on the same file, even on beginner. It is irritating to say the least.
All in all, I'm nostalgic as all hell for the games, the entire series honestly, and I'd recommend anybody at least give them a shot if you're into more ARPG type games.
