Information / Review English
Kindergarten secret is a scary horror game developed by DeilRoXDev.
Gameplay / Story
You always wanted to explore a kindergarten almost in the dark and like a spooky atmosphere? Then you should definitely read on. We play an unnamed propagandist who suffers from amnesia and can't remember anything. Our job is to help her remember and get her memory back. As we know it from other games, we only have a small light source that accompanies us through dark rooms. We search closets for notes and memorabilia that should help us to regain our memory. We also solve smaller puzzles. Little by little, the secret of the kindergarten is revealed and the puzzles come together. One thing is certain, the kindergarten is keeping a dark secret. The question is can you find out.
Per
+ Kindergarten of a different kind + suitable background music + multiple endings + Riddles + fair price + some setting options + Achievements
cons
- Graphics are no longer up-to-date
Conclusion
Kindergarten secret offers you a small/creepy story in which the puzzles have been well integrated.
First of all, thanks to the developer for providing us with this key for the group. You can find more good reviews from others and me here and if you liked the review then we would appreciate a thumbs up.

Information / Review Deutsch
Some secrets are best left forgotten. Story: You play as an unnamed character. You don't really remember anything about your past, but you're connected to Kindergarten from your childhood, a now decrepit and forgotten place. As you arrive, you find notes that paint a dark picture about your past. I'll begin by saying that the overall idea of Kindergarten secret isn't bad, but the execution is really poor. The notes that you discover are all very confusing and even with the dates it's incredibly hard to follow. There's really nothing that good about the story as it's a very generic tale of abuse and corruption. Also the story takes place in a kindergarten, but all the kids speak like they're 16 with some truly edgy dialogue which just makes me laugh. It's just really hard to take seriously and then there's other stuff like poor grammar and in one particular one there's just an ad to the developers other game, which instead of a cute easter egg, feels like a way to sell another game. Graphics: Visuals are bland, there's really not much else to say. There's around five rooms you can explore and they all look pretty bland and boring. It all looks like thrown together assets and just incredibly generic, but to try and hide that fact, they made the game incredibly dark. If you turn off your flashlight it's literally a black screen and you can't see things. It's told in the hints that you use this hint to find items, but it makes finding items much harder, but I'll take about that a bit later. It's just a really bland looking game, no other way to say it. Audio: This is probably the strongest feature of the game as the ambience is pretty good, yet it's also ruined by how they waste it. It's mostly dead quiet, with a song that loops constantly, which is not that good, but it could have been worse. But the strongest suite is in the audio hallucinations. Once in a while while exploring you will hear echoes of children running around and laughing and honestly quite a few times it really caught me off guard, however they re-use this scare so many times that it wears off and becomes annoying especially when you're struggling with the tasks. Gameplay: Kindergarten secret is a horror themed note hunt. All you really do is walk around the rooms trying to find the notes scattered around and looking for keys to unlock the levels and by far this is the games worst feature and make it an infuriating game to finish. The game has one level, that is basically repeated like 7 times and that's really it. All you do is go around the same environment, with barely any changes and look for notes and somehow they made this as painful as they possibly could. First of all let's talk about the note collecting. Each room has tons of areas to look through and finding a piece of paper should be simple and yes, the notes that are unfolded are easy to get, however the developer decided to make certain ones need to be crumpled and those are where the problem arises. They are hidden in such areas where you will be constantly missing one and near the end I looked through every possible area and I could not spot it. I tried my best, but I just simply could not find it. You also move insanely slowly, there's no sprint, you just walk everywhere which just adds to the tedium of the entire thing and by the end I was just begging for the game to end. In the hints it tells you that items glow when you spot them, but that's only true if you're so close that you're in pick up range, but if they're not in your path of view then it doesn't glow. And unless I'm mistaking you have to constantly replay this game to get multiple different endings and I was done after the first run. The game does have quite a few possible endings you can get from what I gather, but to get them all feels like such a tedious chore that it's not worth bothering with. Verdict: Kindergarten secret is a decent idea, but feels lackluster in every possible department. Bland story, bland graphics and bland gameplay make this a chore to get through once let alone multiple times and I just can't recommend it, even on a sale. Final Rating: 2/10 Pros: + Atmosphere is pretty decent Cons: - Note hunting is a tedious chore, due to the gameplay design - Bland graphics - Story makes barely any sense - Re-used scares lose their impact fast NOTE: I was provided with a key by the developer/publisher for review purposes on the behalf of the group Completing the Backlog. This did not impact my opinion on the game. If you liked this review please consider joining https://steamcommunity.com/groups/completingthebacklog
Can you say Groundhog Day? This is a tedious exercise in patience. Opening every drawer, cabinet, curtain, locker, etc. looking for stuff is fun to me, but how many times does one have to search the same five rooms to find every letter (and key to move to the next level)? Is this the meaning of the "24 endings" or the "20 unique quests"? On the fifth "level" (meaning reset rooms) I got stuck behind a desk and called it quits. The fish-eye effect from the flashlight is irritating and unnecessary. The letters sound like they are written by teenagers, not kindergartners-not to mention the poor translation. There are no instructions about what to do, i.e. use "E" to interact. There are no puzzles. The game description is intriguing but misleading. There was a sad story of abuse, corruption and who knows what else unfolding, however the monotony of the so-called "unique quests" will likely prevent anyone from discovering what happened here. Sorry guys. I really wanted to like this.
Quite a large and interesting story for each child. You get tired of the monotony, since additional levels for children dilute it. Screamers in moderation, but over time you stop noticing them.
?????????????????? don't play this
