A cozy desktop train that runs on your keystrokes. The more you type, the farther your hand-drawn locomotive rolls along the bottom of your screen — sell the haul, buy bigger engines and longer trains, and grow a railroad empire while you work. Counts keystrokes only, never what you type.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.
About
Keypress Express is a cozy desktop companion where your everyday typing powers a hand-drawn train across the countryside. Whether you are working, writing, coding, or chatting, every keystroke helps your locomotive travel a little faster.
Your train lives in a slim overlay at the bottom of your screen, quietly rolling alongside your day without stealing focus. There is no separate game window to babysit and no pressure to keep typing. Even when you take a break, your train continues steadily toward its destination.
Your keyboard is the throttle. Typing accelerates your train up to the speed its engine can handle, while lighter days become slower, more leisurely journeys.
Send your train on a trip, get back to whatever you were doing, and glance down occasionally to watch it pass through rolling hills, farms, forests, wildflower fields, and small country stations.
Collect a growing roster of lovingly hand-drawn locomotives and rolling stock. Combine engines with coal hoppers, oil tankers, log cars, passenger coaches, livestock cars, and more.
Every engine has its own balance of speed and hauling capacity. Start with a modest locomotive and a single car, then work your way toward faster engines and long, impressive consists stretching across your desktop.
Each town produces different goods, and every market values cargo differently. Load up where supplies are plentiful, deliver them where demand is high, and plan routes that keep every leg of the journey profitable.
The right destination can turn an ordinary shipment into a valuable haul—but repeatedly flooding the same market will reduce its value. Expand your railway, explore new destinations, and build a trade network that crosses the country.
Complete trips, sell cargo, and reinvest your earnings in:
• New steam engines
• More cargo and passenger cars
• Longer, higher-capacity trains
• Station upgrades
• New routes and destinations
Progress at the pace of your own workday. A busy afternoon might send your train racing across the map, while a quiet day becomes a peaceful journey through the countryside.
Keypress Express is designed to remain ambient and unobtrusive. It fades out of the way when you move your mouse over it and can be hidden whenever you need a completely clear desktop.
There are no timers demanding your attention, no punishments for stepping away, and no window constantly fighting for focus. Just the quiet satisfaction of watching your railway grow alongside the work you were already doing.
Keypress Express counts how many keys you press—never which keys you press.
Your words are never read or recorded. The game does not collect the contents of anything you type.
Every destination, engine, and part of the core progression can be unlocked through play. Optional purchases can accelerate upgrades, but they are never required to build your railway empire.

i type a lot anyway so now apparently i'm also running a tiny railroad ♡ cute little background game that makes typing feel rewarding. i really like that the train decorates my taskbar and keeps traveling even when i'm not actively typing, then gets a little speed boost when i type continuously. sometimes i want to finish a few shorter trips, and sometimes i'd rather send the train on one long journey and forget about it for a while.
I'm enjoying this so far! Can't really complain, it's a surprisingly involved little desktop idler. Works great on my second monitor. Worth a try, imo.

Very cute idea and it works exactly the way I hoped it would. The train quietly rolls along while I answer messages, browse the web or work, then I check back occasionally to sell cargo and upgrade something. It doesn’t punish you for ignoring it, which is the main reason I’ve kept it running.
I love it.
I echo a good number of the odd 26 or so reviews now posted when i say hey, this is a very nice little companion. I was unsure, (honestly I hope this App is as sincere as it seems, being merely a passive little thing and not a clandestine bitcoin leach) but now feel comfortable with this little thing. I have written 5 ghost stories, and found myself actively engaged in creative writing again. This was a goal of mine. This little train helped me get back to it. There can be a habit of letting it run over long trips just to get a few extra bucks, Id caution, use the pause button. Also, I have yet found the way to exit simply. anyway, good time.
Very cozy. Very train.
C'est cool, c'est chill, c'est fun et la partie gestion est juste ce qu'il faut, very nice, puis c'est plutôt jolie

Really charming desktop game. I’ve mostly been running it while programming, and it gives me something to glance at whenever I’m waiting for a build to finish. The different engines and cars are fun to collect, although I’d love more scenery and weather effects eventually.
