The only game i always keep coming too. Kenshi feels like home, the world is rich, endless and unforgiving. You are a nobody, no powers, no magic, no epic Chose One quest. Just you and a world that wants you to suffer. Every time i play Kenshi i feel the same way i felt so many years ago when i started gaming. And that feeling remains fresh to this day. The lore is inmense and rich, the map is well designed and clearly has an intention behind every single terrain feature, from derelict buildings from past empires to the desert rocks that once were at the bottom of an ocean. The factions feel fresh, interesting and realistic. Races and characters are very original too. Base building is deep and extensive, you can settle anywhere and live off of anything, you have a lot of variety to choose from and even though the environment is so diverse, every region retains that "Kenshi" vibe. Im leaving out a lot of things (like combat, RPG features, "quests", world states, modding community, performance & graphics) because i could spend literal hours speaking of every single one of these features. I'll just say that Kenshi is probably my personal favorite game of all time.
Get enslaved, thank me later.
Never had a pc and this was sum I wanted to play since generalsam first played it. Its worth it 7 years later for sure.
I like this game because it lets me see how the life of my friend sneeze looks like (he is enslaved)
You genuinely need to be delusional to think this game is amazing. The only thing going for it is it's world and lore, nothing else about the game could even be considered good. "Oh it's not a game! It's a story generator!" Said the delusional, you play ttrpgs and rpgs as games don't you? This fails in every aspect as an rpg. "The game is so difficult and beserk-pilled!" Farm any easy mob for five minutes on max speed, you will become the world champion of swordsmanship. Run around the map for two hours? You are faster than 99% of every other living thing. "Oh but you are not the main character!" But I can literally kill hordes of bandits and town guards after killing some river creature for five minutes. Being lazy and not writing dialogue for characters because "they have no reason to not interact with you", after you make the local wildlife extinct, is apparently peak game design? "But what about the colony building??" You can literally, first try and blind, abuse the AI to the point where they cannot kill your group. Mods don't even fix this ♥♥♥♥, its genuinely one of the most over rated games of all time. It's atmosphere is ruined by the terrible game design. The ONLY good thing about it is it's worldbuilding and lore, the rest of it is genuinely terrible and written off as "this isn't a game its a story generator". Atleast Rimworld is a good game. 100% worth it on sale though, I am just tired of it being regarded as one of the best indie games when it is one of the worst designed games I've ever played.
Non.
