I'm sure you've heard the saying: "there's not such thing as a bad product, only a bad price" That's basically Karnal. Is it DOOM 2016? No. But it's $2.99 and worth every penny. It has a cool atmosphere and it honestly plays pretty smooth. It's almost got that Hotline Miami feel to the combat where once you know where the enemies are, you kinda just blow through it as quickly as you can. Honestly the game would be fun for speedrunning. Anyways yeah, it's good. Thumbs up from me.
Creepy vibes, or slamming metal music. Maniacal laughing sets the tone from an enemy type. I may have beaten the game in 20 minuets or i just suck with the controls as now i'm stuck in a gladiator arena with enemy's spawning until death like the monster coming for ya in ski free. 90 degree corridor corners with a limited fov feels bogus, so is not being able to rebind key inputs. In the 90s before wasd i made my own weird setup that I prefer. That being said i spent more cash on a couple rounds of crazy taxi in the 90s.

Short first-person shooter with cool aesthetics and simple gameplay, but it almost deserves "not recommended" because of an awful last level that ruins all the fun. The game isn’t very big because there are only four stages. Although each contains a few maps, the whole package is very straightforward. There are no locked doors, keys, or switches to press. Each stage is simply a linear collection of more or less empty areas with paths linking them. There are no checkpoints, and you can only continue by selecting a stage from the main menu. This means you must complete an entire stage to save. The gameplay is rapid and does not have any unnecessary mechanics. Weapons have an endless supply of ammunition, but they must be reloaded. You can't see the bullet count, therefore the only way to know is when a weapon stops firing. Enemies will either shoot from a distance or charge directly at you, dying in a satisfying puddle of blood. If you keep moving and strafing, you can avoid most bullet. Health is not displayed, but there will be a crack across the screen when you are about to die. If this occurs, you can use drugs to regain health. There are one or two packs of tablets in each stage, but they do not carry over. Visuals are the key element. The screen is locked to 4:3 ratio, and the world is made up of pixelated graphics that resemble something from before the introduction of graphic cards. But this is only an illusion, as the game looks quite good. Overall darkness and poorly lit areas may be a difficulty for some because enemies are difficult to spot, however there is a weak flashlight to make things a little easier. Three collectible tapes unlock three short mini-stages, and there’s a bonus arena mode when you beat the game. Arena is the worst part of the game because you need to go through it as the final stage in the main game. The location is very small and enemies spawn faster than you can kill them. It’s an awful finish to an otherwise fun game. Also, you need to replay a short walking section before the arena each time you die. One major problem that shows up in the arena involves melee enemies. If you kill them before they finish their attack animation, you will still take damage.
The game was good and I enjoyed it along with how it visually looked as well as the story but the arena area where you have to survive for a certain amount of time felt impossible to me considering how easily you can get overwhelmed. Would of been better if there were two health kits rather than one? not sure how the recent updates are since I played this game close to when it came out but overall I enjoyed it. https://youtu.be/IjqQG0N0y0k
nice but short. good shooter very challenging at the end edit: the 1.3 update is well worth another playthrough. incredibly atmospheric game
Great visuals and atmosphere. This game is surprisingly polished and bug-free for what is obviously a personal project. There is replay value in the arena and also if you missed the tapes on the first pass. I won’t post spoilers but they a worth finding. Overall, a very good effort!

I bought the game 2 days after the release and for the the price of the game it's good overall. It has unique aspects and a pretty interesting story if you care enough to follow it. If you only care about shooting things, it has that too in the arena mode. Only thing i could really complain about is the fact you cant change the key-binds and and cant change the mouse setting to y-axis.
gun goes bang
The price is right and the developer seems to be listening to some feedback they received on Reddit. I wish them luck.
