"Karambola" is a badly made "more art than game" point and click adventure game with a surrealist theme. Sure, games can be art. Art is where the pinnacle of creativity meets the pinnacle of fine craftsmanship. The Mona Lisa would not be hanging in the Louvre if Leonardo did it with crayons. This has neither good gameplay or high quality construction. It's just a short and pointless screen tapper. And why on earth is this locked to a stupid 1:1 resolution? Most gamers have a 16:9 widescreen monitor, and even so, it's the responsibility of the developer to ensure games look right on any monitor. Making the game look wrong on EVERY monitor is a complete screwup. Visually, this features mediocre hand drawn style "Baby's First Wacom Tablet" art instead of contemporary graphics. This obviously looks better than pixelcrap, but that's a really low bar to barely stumble over. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks worse than a professionally made game would look, and that's a major deterrent. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This isn't free, it's beggarware, the developer wants $5 through donation DLC. Yeah, $5 for this junk... delusions of grandeur. In terms of public reception, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? What's the verdict? I think you should give this one a miss. Although it's free, your time and storage are valuable resources, and the market is filled with superior options.

A surreal point-and-click. By solving puzzles you help the hand-drawn characters deal with difficult emotions and topics. Definitely one of the strangest games i played this year.
Muy original
