JUST HOOPS

There are not so many VR games where you can 'throw basketball', let alone that they also feel realistic. Although the virtual fingers of the virtual hands gave me a first impression as if they were hands with the DNA of 'Octodad', everything seemed to go very smoothly and pleasantly. You will also not have to hold down a button on your controller to hold or release the ball, you have to literally hold, aim and throw the ball with the help of the virtual hands and fingers. Surprisingly, I noticed that techniques while throwing like turning techniques or the like worked, by making the right movements with your VR controllers / wrists while throwing you can really throw the ball while spinning. The game starts with simple commands to get used to the virtual hands such as holding hand-sized dice or stacking them, step by step you will then throw the ball from near to far and high and thus complete a series of challenges and in this way you will be able to unlock more things to throw even more balls in da hoop!

What that means is that you'll have to put your hands around the basketball and then motion them together in a pushing motion towards the basket. Obviously, that's not a realistic way of shooting a basketball, but the physics are fun and consistent. You will not be pressing any buttons on your motion controller. You can play this game seated or standing. There is no locomotion or turning. You basically use an arcade cabinet next to you as your UI to select which mini-game you want to play. Currently, the options are limited. You can play some balancing / stacking dice games (one has an invisible ball). You can also play several mini-basketball games. Some will have moving hoops, others you will have to hit from long distance, etc. Unfortunately, I tried everything the game had to offer in about 40 minutes. So there really isn't a lot of content here. Also, there is only one environment. However, I did have fun playing the arcade basketball with hand physics and I did get a good workout. There is enough variety here at least to keep you entertained for about an hour or so, especially if you want to climb the leaderboards. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting a steady 90 fps. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs. While I did have fun, I do think the game is overpriced for what it is. There are some "coming soon" sections greyed out. Game does feel like it should be in Early Access, although what's there is polished. JUST HOOPS is a paid VR game about shooting basketball on arcade games. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Take a little getting used to the griping of the balls. The ball physics look real enough, very hard to get balls into some hoops and you don't have to throw harder. You can unlock other themed hoops games, as you play. If you like throwing basketballs into hoops for real, maybe give this a buy. I got a free key for this from the Steam Curator program. Terrible handling: The ball has no "weight." Very little feedback when picking up or holding the ball. The ball seems to be made of gravity-defying ice because it's impossible to hold. Notice how in the videos they dont show the whacked hand flailing that comes with shooting the ball. Every clip starts just after the ball has been thrown.

Очень качественный и приятный глазу аркадный симулятор закидывания мяча.Не жалею вообще.Открыл все уровни чуть более чем за час.Много разнообразных и необычных уровней,там и подобие змейки даже есть в виде летающих колец.Мяч бросать приятно.Цена нормальная по фуллпрайсу,своих денег стоит на все 100 + 10 киви процентов)))

Kinda hard but fun to figure out

its good but hard i'm on the 2nd to last training part i cant get past it you have to make 10 shots on a tall basketball hoop i cant even make one.

Just Hoops is one of the best games to simulate the simple feeling of throwing a basketball. That’s what this game is all about: shooting baskets at the arcade in a series of challenges of varying difficulty and theme. Advice for new players: Spend as much time on the easier levels as necessary. Personally, I had a lot of trouble initially just trying to understand how to properly hold the ball with my Oculus Quest controllers. I had even more issues when it came to throwing the dang thing with any accuracy. However, I’m glad I stuck with Just Hoops, as grokking the physics of the game, and being able to score baskets now that I’ve learned is an amazing feeling. Just Hoops feels like it has a lot of potential to grow – the developer has added several updates since launch. Most recently they added dozens of new challenges and plenty of new cosmetic designs to change things up for players. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next from this team – whether it’s Just Hoops on Quest natively, or a whole new project, I am positive they are going to be... a slam dunk. Great game that is a lot of fun. Just give it a little time to get used to they physics. Looking forward to more content in the future!
