Janosik is a retro action-platformer metroidvania. It's fast-paced, challenging, and full of secrets to discover while exploring its big and interconnected world.

Janosik's companions were captured by the evil Count Von Zur and it’s up to you to find and rescue them from the prison. Explore hand-drawn pixel art world, find secrets, jump over deadly obstacles, roll and attack enemies, collect gold coins and find upgrades.
Janosik gives you about 2 hours of single-player retro platforming fun.
Janosik was a legendary Slovak highlander rogue. According to the legend, he robbed nobles and gave the loot to the poor, just like Robin Hood. The game is based on popular legends in which Janosik had special magical items given to him (usually) by witches. Those items gave him superhuman strength, protected him from bullets, or gave him the ability to jump over the trees. In some legends, Janosik fights with supernatural beings.
We took inspiration from the legends both for this game and the upcoming Janosik 2, and highly recommend that you read more about this hero if you enjoyed playing our retro platformer.

Hermoso juego, que parece venir de aquella época lejana en la que los juegos indie se hacían con más corazón que presupuesto. Tenemos un pixelart básico pero que se ve de maravilla, mecánicas algo complejas pero bien implementadas, un protagonista carismático, fases muy bien hechas en las cuales la prueba y error es clave, jefes que son un reto pero son accesibles con práctica, y su buena dosis de humor. Parece tener corta duración (no lo he terminado) pero para ser gratuito cumple con creces. Si extrañas esos tiempos en los que los juegos Indies eran más una caja de sorpresas que una industria, este juego es más que recomendado.

Janosik is pure fun. It's not perfect, slightly jank movement, regular enemies take 1-4 hits which breaks your rhythm, tanky bosses and occasional slowdown. But the level design is great and the pixel art is charming. Amazing value for the price of free
Great game. It has a nice art style, the story is pretty good. It has some issues, of course, like the dialogue being strangely written sometimes, the movement doesn't feel as refined as some other platformers and there are some bugs, but it's a really good game overall, especially since it's free. I think even if it wasn't free, I still wouldn't hesitate to buy it.
Fun platformer with a lot of content for a free game! My main complaint is that I feel like I'm missing secrets, but not enough people are talking about it to know for sure.
