The game starts by putting you in the shoes of a guy with a deep, growly voice who's living in a pretty run down place. At first, everything feels surprisingly normal. You're asked to drink some beer, do the laundry, and put the wheels back on your van. Before long, though, it becomes clear that this is the daily routine of a serial killer. Your next task is to murder a group of Boy Scouts in the woods and load their bodies into the back of your van. After that shocking turn, the perspective shifts and you take control of a police officer investigating the crime. The controls are standard for a first person game. An interaction prompt appears whenever you get close to an object and aim the dot in the center of the screen at it. There are no waypoints or highlighted objectives to guide you, but interactable objects are always tied to your current task. Anything unrelated either won't display any information when you look at it or can no longer be interacted with once you've already used it. The experience is short, and since there's no save system, you'll need to finish it in a single sitting. Fortunately, the game never becomes overly complicated. Objectives aren't displayed on screen, so you have to pay attention to what the characters are saying, even if their exaggerated accents can make them a little tricky to understand. Thankfully, the environments are small and easy to navigate, and the intentionally low fidelity visuals mean there aren't many details to distract you from what you need to do.
