🏁 Iso Racer - A Hidden Gem for Racing Fans! 🏁

First Impressions
When I first launched Iso Racer, I wasn't sure what to expect from this indie racer. But after spending time drifting through its isometric tracks, I can confidently say this game surprised me in the best way possible. 🎮
Gameplay & Physics
The driving mechanics are where Iso Racer truly shines. The physics feel weighty and satisfying - every drift requires skill and timing. It's not one of those arcade racers where you can just hold the gas and win. You need to master the corners, control your slides, and learn each track's quirks. The isometric view took some getting used to, but once it clicked, I found it actually adds a unique strategic layer to racing. You can see upcoming turns and plan your lines better than in traditional third-person racers.
Content & Customization
There's a decent variety of tracks and cars to unlock. The recent update added 20 new circuits which kept things fresh for me. Vehicle customization is present but has some limitations - not all cars can be fully customized, which can be frustrating. ⚙️
Multiplayer Experience
Online racing is where the game gets really competitive. You can race against AI or jump into online matches with other players. Some matches are chaotic fun, though I did experience occasional connection hiccups. When it works smoothly, battling other players is incredibly addictive.
The Good ✅

Satisfying drift mechanics with real skill ceiling
Unique isometric perspective that adds strategy
Good track variety with regular content updates
Works well for both casual and hardcore racers
Free to Play - no upfront cost to try
Active developer support with new tracks added
Both AI and online multiplayer options available
Fair monetization without aggressive microtransactions

The Not-So-Good ❌

Occasional multiplayer connection issues
Learning curve might frustrate some players
Could use more visual polish in some areas
Limited single-player content
Car customization has restrictions on certain vehicles
Some players report controller compatibility issues
Still in Early Access - expect bugs and changes
AI difficulty can be inconsistent at times

Final Verdict
Iso Racer isn't perfect, but it delivers a focused racing experience that respects your time and skill. Being free to play makes it an easy recommendation - you have nothing to lose by trying it. If you're tired of microtransaction-heavy racers and want something pure and fun, this is worth checking out. I've already come back to it more times than I expected! 🏆 Recommended for: Racing enthusiasts, drift lovers, indie game supporters, players looking for free racing games Status: Early Access with active development ⭐ Rating: 7.5/10 - Solid racing fun with room to grow

Very cool game - NIce physics - but bots is very stupid
Note: Dead PvP game This game contains no meaningful single player content. There's no viably populated servers/active player population. This game cannot be played as intended.

Warning: In-Game Cash Shop This game is infested with a toxic mobile app style cash shop. You will be prompted to and expected to give money/credit card details to the developers through this cash shop to buy in-game goods so you can play the game.
This abandoned Early Access "mobile app in exile" is basically a ripoff of Super Sprint, but with low poly contemporary sports cars (assets from an app store?) where you go around the track, and then find out how much money you're expected to give to the developers through the toxic cash shop infesting this. That's the kind of thing that will cause a PvP game to fail. "Iso Racer" happens to be a failed PvP game. Why is it dead? It's time for a video game autopsy! The vast majority of PvP focused games on Steam are failures. Most fail because developers assume just because the game project code completes a successful build, the game will instantly and magically "go viral" just for existing. There's nothing in this to appeal to gamers that hundreds of other PvP games are already doing better. There's fierce competition in the PvP game arena... and I'm not referring to players fighting other players. There's thousands of PvP-only games but only a tiny handful of them are successful enough to attract and keep a wide player base. This game failed to compete and didn't get enough people to stay active. Despite being free, it did not have what it takes, it's as simple as that. This game lacks any meaningful solo content. The developer tried to use other players as a substitute for real work like level design and story, gambling that just because their game exists, it's going to magically pull the entire player base of Counter-Strike 2 over to this failure instead. They lost that unwise gamble. A game with no players and no solo content is a dead game. Developers need to stop relying on players as a substitute for real content, just because they feel creating genuine narrative, level design and so on is "too hard". The "developers" walked away from this 2 years ago. This is never getting finished. This unfinished game is just polluting the store and making it harder for people to find real, actually finished games. This isn't good for gamers or for developers who do the right thing. Despite being unable to finish the actual game, the "developers" clearly had plenty of time to build a working cash shop and a payment processing system. That proves their main priority was just to extract money from Steam users just like mobile scammers do with mobile peasants. This looks, feels and plays like a mobile app. I checked the app stores and couldn't find it there, maybe it was rejected, maybe the developer thought Steam Direct was easier than trying to self publish through Google and Apple. Either way, this might as well be a mobile app. That's reason enough to avoid this mess. We don't spend thousands on gaming hardware just to run low-effort iPhone apps on our desktops. Visually, this game goes for a low poly minimalist look - which in practice means as few polygons and as little artistic effort as possible. Some developers dress this up as a deliberate design philosophy, but the result speaks for itself: it looks cheap, bare, and unfinished. Gaming is a visual medium. Players deserve more than a handful of flat-shaded shapes dressed up as a game world. Let's talk about pricing and the actual value this has for gamers. This game is infested with mobile app store like microtransactions. This is a consumer hostile model that we don't need to see on PC. It's deceptively priced to gouge gamers, and that's a reason in itself to avoid this. You can always judge a game by how popular it is with the general public. Steam has over 130 million unique gamers, and over 40 million unique logons every day from dedicated PC gamers. But this only ever had a peak player count of a dozen or so people... that's very poor public reception. Gamers rejected this, most likely due to the reasons I supply in this review. All other issues aside (any of which would disqualify this from being worth your time), this is a game that relies on other players for it to be viable, and because there's not enough players, it's not viable. I can't recommend anyone downloads this, it's basically dead.
The game is fun but has too many issues playing with friends. When you are the host it rains the entire times, but runs well. For the other people it is sunny and really laggy. Wish the creators would put more effort in fixing these issues before other things. I do enjoy the game but can't play it with how it is now.
