Interplay Solitaire

Worse than the original from the 90's. - Frame rate capped at 30 fps, game feels very sluggish - Game rules have errors - Cards don't follow the mouse exactly, so you have to drop the cards where the cursor is and not where the card is. - Overlapping end of level popups - Poorly explained game modes with questionable grammar - Game claims there are no moves left even with empty spare slots available - Tour mode hangs on an empty green screen after the first game. Can't get all the achievements because you can't even complete a tour.

It's a good game, but full of bugs. - A great collection of solitaire games - Simple visuals, perfect for those who like to play cards - Simplified card movement for some moves But this game has several bugs - Sometimes you need to put cards in piles that no longer have space at the bottom of the screen, and if you do that, there will be no way to select these cards again. A scroll would solve it. - The game sometimes gives you a message that there are no more possible moves, and gives you the option to start another game. I managed to finish these games several times. - There are some logic problems, including the one above. Despite the problems, it's worth it, especially for the number of games, and to learn each one of them.

It's just plain Solitaire with lots of variations. What sold it for me was the 90's look and feel and that it has no ads or tracking that comes with the free ones that are around. I highly recommend it on sale though because that normal asking price is ridiculously high.

I want to like this game. It has a lot of great solitaire games, which is something you can't find anymore. In recent years, thanks to the casual gaming boom, all you can find are TriPeaks versions of solitaire. Or Pyramid. Boring. This game has many versions of solitaire, and you can play a single game, or play a tour mode. I was really intrigued by the tour mode. Supposedly, it links one type of solitaire game to another, based on how you win. I say 'supposedly', because it has never worked for me. Although the game is supposed to work on the Mac, and M1 versions of the OS, it does not work properly. The tour does not work at all. I play through the first solitaire game, it pops up a 'high score' box, but once I put my name in the box, nothing happens. I can see the solitaire tabletop, but it's empty. All of the UI controls disappear, and there is no menu bar, so I have to force quit the game. Tour Mode doesn't work at all. Individual solitaire games seem to work okay. So far, playing and completing them has worked correctly, and I've played four different games. However, there are graphics errors. When you press the 'Hint' button, it shows you a ghosted version of a move that can be made. That ghosting mechanism sometimes pops up on its own, causing cards to flash between their solid and ghosted versions. Once this begins to happen, it doesn't seem to stop. It happens irrespective of whether you've used a hint, and doesn't stop until you play a card. After that, it comes and goes randomly. While the individual games are good, this game has a lot of problems and shouldn't have been released in this state. It needs a lot more debugging before release, and is definitely NOT worth the $20 I was charged.

It's solitaire plain and simple, but it offers over 25 variations and a few different gameplay modes for added challenge, including some hard-to-find or unique variations as well as the most popular versions (Klondike aka Windows, Golf, Freecell, Pyramid). The controls could be a little more responsive when clicking & double-clicking to move cards but it's not bad. It also lets you navigate menus using a controller, which isn't perfect but is nice. Nothing fancy graphics or sound-wise which is fine. While I give it a thumbs-up and am satisfied with it, whether or not you should buy it comes down strictly to price. I got this during a Steam special promotion for $2, which is an absolute bargain. If you see this game at full price, which usually is $20, don't buy it. Wishlist it and wait for a good sale when it hopefully gets down to $5 or less. At $10 it's still worth a look. But if you come across it at $2 by some chance, buy it.

This program is a buggy mess. Game rules don't work as described, the game "ends" even though it can be continued and finished, or doesn't "end" when there are no more moves. Speaking of moves, they are very imprecise and often have to be repeated to actually work. Completing the game can freeze the program. It's amazing how much can be broken in a simple solitaire game...

Well, it actually work compared to the other solitaire games on steam. The lack of auto complete when you have all the cards laid out is lame. The $20 price tag at least means that the game works and has no ads unlike Windows 10 Solitaire but then again, that one has an auto complete function... and the feature of telling you when the game is unable to be completed. why is this not included?
