Boring gameplay, clunky controls, and repetitive fights. Not worth it.

кайфовая игра для жуков! Жучий кайф, слов нет. Всем любителям жуков советую однозначно

I really wanted to like Insectum - Epic Battles of Bugs, but unfortunately it feels pretty shallow and underwhelming. The core idea of insect battles with card mechanics sounds interesting, but in practice the gameplay becomes repetitive very quickly. After a few levels, it feels like you’re just doing the same thing over and over without much real strategy or depth. The game advertises around 60 levels, but they don’t feel meaningfully different from each other. Another issue is the lack of content. There are only a handful of insects and limited mechanics, which makes progression feel slow and not very rewarding. Matches are short, which might be good for some players, but here it just makes the experience feel a bit empty rather than engaging. The visuals are okay, but nothing special, and the overall presentation feels more like a mobile game than a полноценный PC title. Also, the fact that multiplayer is local-only really limits replayability. Overall, it’s not a terrible game, but it feels too basic and lacks the depth needed to stay interesting for more than a couple of hours. I’d only recommend it at a very low price, if at all.

Well, it is a fascinating thing to write a review for a game with grand total of 7 other reviews up to this point, well over a year since release. Got the game for equivalent of around 1 USD on a sale and if you are looking at a similar price - it is likely you will not be disappointed. It is a VERY simple game, focused on sending insects down 3 lanes. Gameplay is mostly random, as you cannot build deck or choose anything other than improving unlocked insects (only attack/hp). It does get quickly repetitive. It does not have ANY story. The music and sounds are generic. The art is quite old school, to put it in a best way. There is absolutely no reason to play it further than those 5-10 battles, aside from unlocking new map (with the same 3 lanes) and new insects (although there is not that many in total and they are all unlocked halfway through). All that being said - it is a nice, honest and simple game, bringing you the feel of those weird arcade-kind of games that were on TV shows for children back in early 2000'. If you do have a hint of nostalgia for such and it is on sale - I say it is a dollar well spent.

I really enjoy playing with my son. Easy, intuitive, and great for anyone who is a fan of card games and insects.
