Inscryption

I've never been into virtual card games but Inscryption hooked me in. On top of the already great and deep card game aspect, revolving mainly about the theme of sacrificing cards to play other cards, the game innovates with the way the story is explored, that is, through its ARG aspect. While I personally didn't indulge in the ARG, I've seen what it was about and I respect the mastery of the creator when handling that part of the game. For the common type of players such as me, Inscryption still tells a fairly simple yet interesting story about a man who found a floppy disk with the game "Inscryption" in it. As the story progresses, more revelations are made about the nature of Inscryption, and the narrative constantly intertwines between the game itself and the world beyond it. The game itself is also a tale about 4 characters, each with arguably selfish interests and objectives, and one of the highlights of the game for me was their characterization and interactions. Finally, when finishing the game, you unlock a roguelike version of the game, which provides a very fun challenge for those who enjoyed the card play. Skull Storm is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ though. The only real criticism I have about the game is that Act 3 feels sluggish and less interesting compared to the other 2 acts, and while it was made like that on purpose, it still affects a whole third of the game. 9 / 10

more than you think will be there. Super fun. You will love it.

Originally played this game on a PS5, although I didn't finish it, I have to say that it's overall one of the best card-based games I've played, you can really feel the love behind the designs and interactions when playing, the synergy of the cards is pristine and the gameplay loop is extremely addicting once you get into it. Overall 10/10, literally perfect

This game is truly something special, its the most unique interesting card battler i have ever played. The card mechanics alone are a great game then the story is just a chefs kiss to it. Easily one of my all time games now

A brilliant love letter to card battling as a whole, and probably one of the best card battler video games. I don't want to talk about its mechanics at length, because most of them are spoilers, so you must trust that it'll be a good game for you if you enjoy card battlers. It easily surpasses any expectations its store page might set for you, and is absolutely filled with surprises.
