Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Started out really good. Middled very difficult. Ended really mediocre.

Way better than Dial of Destiny. 9/10

The base game is fine, but the DLC feels very linear, almost tunnel-like, in its design. I didn't like it at all. It gives the impression that the developers didn't know what kind of map to create, so they simply threw in a sewer tunnel. However, the game has more pros than cons, so I recommend having it in your library, as it is unique.

As most everyone has said in previous reviews, it is like the best Indiana Jones movie to come out in the last 30 years. It's a real globetrotting story that hit more locations than I was expecting. The first person view works for what it is and the combat and exploration really feel generally in line with Indiana Jones as a character. Like, some people whinged (complained) about the initial ideas of Indy not really using guns in the game... But how lame would this game be if it just turned into Indiana Jones the FPS? Okay, but you can use guns in the game, it just changes the way the challenges work; or you knock someone out with a frying pan, make a quip, then hide their body behind an outhouse. It's pretty amazing how much they nailed the young Harrison Ford look, voice, and even every subtle (and not-so-subtle) mannerism when he's playing Indiana Jones. Now, all that being said, the game is still so gamey as video games have to be. Like Dr. Jones has got to be one of the top five geniuses/polymaths in the whole history of planet Earth, having visited every country in the world, speaking virtually every language, and able to decipher abstract new languages/images. And as everyone knows, every ancient civilization was able to create huge and complicated machinery to slide gigantic stone doors around using running water, pressure plates, light reactive holes, and echoes. So of course the story goes pretty far off the deep end with the countless puzzles, traps, climbing, jumping, dumb luck, etc. So yeah, this game is a recommend for anyone who likes Indiana Jones. If you knew nothing about Indiana Jones, this game would still be a great introduction to the character.

I bought this game on sale, thankfully, and while the game looks very good it is not coded very well.... LIKE AT ALL. It crashes repeatedly at random times. Now I was able to struggle through to complete a play through of the main story (needed persistance to ignore the multiple crashes/freezes) I must say that I wasted my money buying the DLC as I have come up to a point in the extra story that constantly freezes... meaning I am unable to complete even the first mission of the DLC missions. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME... ESPECIALLY AT FULL PRICE....
