Features, 23 Major stat systems with over 39 spells ranging from explosive cows to ELDRITCH BLAST!
18 Abilities to choose from. and 133 gameplay altering traits amounting to a grand total of 542 different Cards to choose from.
22 Major stats
-Health
Health is fairly self explanatory. However, our health system has a few fun features. As you gain health you get physically larger. You can crush buildings by walking over them with enough size on some maps. You can squash other players squashing them like some kind of raidboss Kaiju.
-Damage
If health affects player size, damage affects bullet size. Want to fling a fish at someone that's half the size of the screen? Get lots of damage cards.
-Projectile speed
Projectile speed allows you to turn a rock into a railgun. It adds wall pen, more damage and knockback, and visually changes your spell as well for that nice satisfying feeling of launching a rat at mach 20 to splatter against another wizard right in the face.
-Ability Power
Ability power increases the strength of your left click. Whatever it is, it gets crazier. Want to flood the screen with hundreds of explosive chickens that chain react like dominos? Ability power is a great means to do so!
AND Many more. Discover unique things like Ward, absorbing projectiles using your mana and flinging them back at other players. Or become an absolute tank maxing armor and toughness and becoming the one CHONK to rule them all!
----------------Spells-------------
Wield powerful spells ranging from simple rocks, to explosive cows, equip a hippopotamus launcher, or even breath dragon fire.
----------------Traits-------------
Traits are core game mechanic altering cards, ranging from simple things like taking knockback in reverse. Why get hit away from them, when you could take damage to get CLOSER to that annoying wizard hiding in the corner! There are many mechanic altering cards, that alter game rules or give special abilities to allow you to build unique ideas and break the game in a new and creative way!
----------------Abilities-------------
Flood the screen with minions, explode the map with a single click and cover it in fire like a maniac. Abilities range from shockwaves, to summons, to brief moments of invulnerability. Flood the screen with heat seeking explosive hens, command a stone golem that has zero chill.
----------------Master the Elements-------------
Impractical spells has an element system, featuring fire, frost, water, and lightning.
Did your friend pick up the trait that makes them constantly leave a trail of water but run faster?
Pick up a lightning spell, and watch it arc along the water to shock your friend! Want to be an absolute pyromaniac?
Just cover the map in fire, watch it spread!

// Impractical Spells BROKEN GAME. 1-3 Players. Game is jacked; menus are broken. When players are joined it says "Push X to begin" -- but it just brings up another broken menu.
never do remote play for a free to play game, if it was online it would be infinitely better

as a friend of the developers, i would recommend this game to all. I know the game seems un-finnished, its because it is. this game was a passion project between 2 friends built from the ground up on a 10 year outdated laptop. the ammount of effort put into this early access 1.0 game is monumental. shout out to my boy skylor and christian for their literal sweat and tears put into this game.
Oyunun kuralları basittir. Güçlenmek için kartları seçin. Kazanmak için ayakta kalan son sihirbaz olun, oyunu kazanmak için 8 tur kazanın.
"Impractical Spells" is a very mediocre 2D top down retro brawler with a couple of gimmicks, different characters, card based abilities... but it ultimately didn't appeal to gamers, being a 2D game in the 3D era of gaming, a tired premise, no single player content, and general amateurish levels of quality that understandably failed to impress the majority of gamers on Steam. What do you do in the game? Choose a character and some cards, then go do some top down 2D arena fighting... ugh. It's an old, dead genre of gaming and this didn't add nearly enough to resurrect it. The graphics aren't great... that will understandably be a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. Insultingly, the developer insists that you should play this with a console peasant children's toy gamepad instead of KB+M. Developers should try to be aware which platform they're designing games for. It's the responsibility of the developer to ensure the game runs well on the platform they're selling it on, with the primary peripherals that PC gamers use. The developer chose not to do the job of a real game developer and create meaningful bespoke levels, narrative based gameplay progression and so on. Instead, they decided that "Procgen IS content!" and lazily tried to use procgen algorithms to create infinite, samey, repetitive, soulless levels, because that's a lot less work. As a result of this poor decision, the game gets tired and repetitive almost immediately. Developers must learn that procgen and PvP are a terrible substitute for creating real content. It should not be used as "ez-mode" for content creation, as the developer tried to do here. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 5 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
very fun game to play with friends controls are confusing dont play on keyboard unless you hate yourself i only got multiplayer to work on steam remote play unfortunately extremely balanced frfr no cap no glitches whatsoever 11/10 would play again
A near unplayable ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a game. Don't quit your day jobs, devs.
