Dear Fellow Players, As a completionist, after playing through the whole content available right now (August 2025) with over 130+ hours of gametime on Normal difficulty, I highly recommend this masterpiece and all of its expansions, or so-called downloadable contents (DLCs). To do so I try my best to write a review for you hereby… Education and overall impression: This game really deepens your knowledge in Greek and Chinese mythology; even though it is not always “lore accurate”, most of its references are correct and fact-checked. And it has a delightful, light, sometimes even spicy (but still child-friendly) humour. Oh and also… Be careful with the main game as it is the most emotional; some scenes can even make your eyes teary. Story: The story arch is well-written and it goes through the main game, the A new god expansion and The lost gods expansion. The second, Myths of the Eastern Realm expansion is a not related spin-off, placed in a Chinese environment with a different hero character and different gods. In the main game your character makes a “zero to hero transformation” and its main goal is quite straightforward from the very beginning; saving your brother. (In this regard I highly recommend you not to check the achievements prior your first complete playthrough as there is a plot twist that is being ruined by them.) During the story of the main game, you meet and assist different Greek gods who are deprived from their very essences. Those essences are very thought-provoking as they are not as straightforward as it seems for the first glance, thus elevating the personality development of the various gods quasi straight to philosophy levels. It is quite hard to write about the stories of the A new god and The lost gods expansion without spoilers. Still, to tell some words about the A new god expansion, I would say, it is all about trials thus it is totally puzzle-focused with very little combat. No words for The lost gods expansion, sorry. About the Myths of the Eastern Realm expansion, it can be said that it is basically the retheming of the main game. The story is very similar to the main game’s but with far fewer gods and smaller open-world map. Game mechanics, systems: The basics of the combat system remain the same through the main game and all of its expansions. The item and ability upgrade systems change only in the last expansion (The lost gods) switching from “various items for various purposes” to “equipping various things into slots” style. Personally, I think this change is a bit confusing for the first few hours but overall is a benefit as it allows the players to further personalise and vary their playstyles even between battles, doing this all without changing the basics of the combat system itself. So, well done developers! The camera coordination (point of view) also changes only in the last expansion (The lost gods) as the previous games show your character from a third-person view, The lost gods expansion shows it from an isometric angle. In my opinion, due to the change in perspective, controlling the player’s character and navigating within the game became difficult. The basics of the puzzles are the same through the games but the solving mechanisms show differences. All of the expansions add that plus, well-thought twists to the already existing features that help the player to avoid being bored of the puzzle-solving and that (with their own stories, of course) makes them totally worth to buy. After you have played through the expansions, in the main game you can use all of the visual customisations you have collected. And trust me, there are some really cool stuffs in them, so it worths it! Unfortunately, you can customise your character only in the main game and in the A new god expansion. The appearance and voice of the new heroes you get in the second (Myths of the Eastern Realm) and third (The lost gods) expansion cannot be changed. Achievements: As I have mentioned previously, I am a completionist. Most of the achievements can be done within the first normal playthrough, assuming you try various strategies and playstyles. Only two of them can be missed easily; the first being the Look, no hands! (main game) and other is the Lighter than air (Myths of the Eastern Realm expansion). But no worries! If you missed them, starting a new game (or a New Game+ in the main game) you can do them within an hour or so. Two of the achievements are hard-hitting spoilers of the story and should be hidden/secret achievements. The first one – as I mentioned – is connected to the main game and I do not even want to write its name because it also refers to the spoiler itself. The second is well, not a real achievement but a Uplay (Ubisoft Connect) Core Challenge and is connected to the quite surprising final boss of the last expansion (The lost gods). So, Dear Fellow Players, whether you have read all of my review or not, I suggest you to give this game a try! Happy gaming, Champion!
This game was a fun experience overall. What I expected from this type of game but the writing and comedy was a nice surprise. The combat was engaging and enjoyable and plenty to do all over the world. The puzzles were interesting and pretty clever. I enjoyed figuring out all the ways to solve them in a lot of ways i didn't realize. It was worth the money and time i put into it

Fantastic game! Great story and I love the banter between the characters. Highly recommend.
Honestly I was hesitating if I should recommend that game but while playing I found out that I was playiong this game wrong - which also proves the design flaw of this production. The game is filled with a lot and I mean A LOT of side activites that aren't engaging, rarely rewarding and for fomo/completionist players it will be a hard lesson. The game is suprisingly far more enjoyable when you ignore these activities unless you feel like it or the game forces you to do that on some quests. And this is fine. The gameplay mechanics are all right, plot is very light filled with jokes(some are even really funny) but overall this game isn't fantastic. It's enough, and that's okay when it comes to me. Worth a shot when it's on sale and if you are worried if you'd like it just return it after <2h because that is enough time to estimate if you like the game as it doesn't evolve much more.
