About
Join Ika and the Creature on their season-spanning trek through the Migration Path!
This colorful puzzle-platformer features 60 levels of puzzle-box challenges that are sure to test your wit -- and your platforming abilities!
Set in the serene nature of a post-post-apocalyptic American countryside, this world has long forgotten humanity -- until Ika the Woodpecker discovers a lone child on his trek south for the Winter.
CONTROLLER RECOMMENDED! - All common controllers are supported.
Ika was the Captain of his flock - an ace flyer, skilled archer, and role model for the fledglings under his tutelage. Days before his flock's annual migration, he was severely injured on a scouting mission, resulting in the loss of his left wing. Flightless, he was abandoned by his people as they fled Winter's bitter grasp.

On his unprecedented perilous trek, Ika discovers a child of an unfamiliar breed. He quickly finds the Creature is capable of magical feats, allowing him to progress far further than he ever could alone.

Alone, they are powerless. But together, the duo can surmount any obstacle in their way.
Ika serves as the duo's muscle -- he is responsible for the platforming and item use in the game. While his loss of a wing resulted in his inability to fly, he can still jump and use his good wing to clear obstacles.

The Creature is nimble and dexterous -- he is able to climb vines to reach greater heights and can fit in small spaces. But his small stature means he's unable to jump, and his weak arms prevent him from using the items that the duo craft.

When the duo is united, they unlock the ability to craft items by combining the items they possess. Ika and the Creature can each hold one item, and combining them allows them to craft a new item to overcome obstacles in their path. There are dozens of combinations to discover and experiment with!

The Creature has magical abilities that allow him to channel the things he eats into elemental power - use this ability wisely!

Wielding the elements results in many new possible items to craft. Try to find all the combinations!

Every level will give you a Star Ranking depending on how fast you beat it. This puts your puzzling abilities and your reflexes to the test to truly show your mastery!
Enable the Timer in Options to keep track of your Star Progress in real time.
Play your fastest to unlock every Star!

P.S. My best speedrun of the game is 56:26, try to beat that!

absolutely fantastic puzzle platformer game
Ika's Odyssey is a challenging puzzle platformer about a bird trying to find his flock... by foot. Beat it in 5.5 hours using a game controller and tons of patience. Difficulty is Medium to Med-hard. For a first-time game from Dongle Duck, this is a really good game. You use most of a game controller to play, with Ika being on the L, Ltrigger, and L3 side of things, and Ika's helper being on the R side. Using, combining, and swinging items, and jump are done with the right-hand colored buttons, throwing items and helper is done with L3. One L/R button picks up items (per character), and one L/R button drops item (also per character). Both Ljoystick and directional pad move the characters. If this sounds convoluted, it is. I had a very hard time getting a hang of the controls. Wish there was a way buttons were tightened up, but I can't think of one given how they're used. Another issue I kept running across was how small the platforms are. It's really easy to slide off platforms. The most frustrated I got was in the second act. And a third problem I had was one level was so dark I couldn't tell what was going on. playing during the night fixed this. Once I eventually Got Gud, the only hard obstacle left was the challenge of the levels, themselves. Got stuck on 12-4 and above pretty badly, as well as one level in 11. There's no guide or map to speak of on the interwebz, so you're on your own until someone makes one. The biggest take-away was that I had a lot of fun playing. I know it sounds like I'm railing on the negatives, but for a 2d platformer about throwing children where you have to use your brain - combining items a ton while happy travel guitar strings jingle on in the background - it's a great experience. The story is fantastic. The levels are memorable. And it's freeeee! Worth it if you're looking for a short, friendly platformer to shout angrily at. And once you beat it, you can claim the other achievements by playing it again, but faster and flawlessly! Replay value!

Fun and relaxing game. Feels very simple with controls and the combining of items is a neat concept. You also get to throw a child around so 12/10 because of that aspect.
Вуди Вудпекер курильщика.
好玩,就是人物灵敏度有点高了,总是跳过,解密也不难流程很短。
Ika's Odyssey is good example of a puzzle platformer done right. It does an incredible job of building ideas and seeing them to their full potential. Although some of the puzzles were very challenging, the satisfaction you feel after solving them is worth it. It was more than just the puzzles though. I felt that the atmosphere of the game was very charming, from the music to the art. Overall, Ika's Odyssey is a great game with a lot of smart, clever ideas with incredible execution.
Great puzzle platformer that worked perfectly on my Steam Deck. Very cozy and chill game perfect for when you want to unwind and tease your brain. The soothing and sumptuous soundtrack really helps! I found the way you have to manage your objects with the creature and Ika to be really unique, and a great gameplay hook. Love the simple, but heartful story. Found it very uplifting. Can't wait to see what else Dongle Duck has in store for us! Such a great premiere game from a talented solo dev.
Very good game, made me get a wife, i recommend it
I loved being able to find nostalgia in a new game. I thought the 2-D world was going extinct until i played this. Love the combo mechanics that add an extra layer to the puzzle system tied together with a star grading system that allows me to challenge myself to do better each time I play. I will definitely be playing again so I can beat all the times I set for myself the first time around. Next step, beating the best times! 10/10 would recommend! Can't wait to see what's next from Double D!
