I’ll be taking the time to review this game and many other ones in this same niche genre to help players understand what may be worth playing. This game is part of the popular mostly-idle Asian auto-combat clicker rpg family… There are innumerable examples on the mobile platform, not as many on PC. These types of auto play games are typically loathed by western audiences and very popular in Asia. The emphasis is less on the granular action, e.g. smashing buttons and navigating through terrain, and more about meta management like equipment improvement or mythological pet upgrades to ultimately improve Combat Power or Battle Rating, which is just a number that represents your overall might. If your number is bigger than your opponent’s number, usually you will win… that simple. Idle Saga is a clone of a game that has been out for a few years called, “Immortal Legend”. Trace evidence of the game’s mobile roots are still in the settings menu as there’s an option to compensate for a phone screen “notch”. Funny… My playtime on record via steam does not represent actual time played, since I have enjoyed Immortal Legend on the mobile platform for years. Game Hollywood and R2 Games, two asian companies just acquired the rights for the assets recently, Unlock.Game is the original publisher, mobile only though. Most of the action is pointing your character to various dungeons and areas to farm specific materials for upping various parts of your kit; armor, weapon, mystical powers, etc. The graphics are honestly pretty impressive for a 2.5d mobile click game. The monsters, weapons, levels, powerups, etc are all completely over-the-top. You’ll need to embrace the idea of a sword being three times the size of your character, for instance. The higher in levels you go, the more things unlock and the more there is to do. Will you have fun? It boils down to patience and your love for click happy games. Everything is a menu or button to level something up. Anything with a red dot needs your attention. You address one upgrade, then something else lights up begging to be upgraded shortly after. Do you have to spend? Not really, but it definitely pulls down some walls for additional activity and the rate at which you can improve power. If you’re going to spend, buy packs because there’s much more included than simply topping up. Give it a shot, you’ll either instantly delete it or find yourself clicking away a few hours later. I’d recommend playing it on mobile via an android emulator though, since you can tie your account and purchases to a Google or FB account, which helps if you need customer service. Hope this helps.

What is this supposed to be? This isn't a game. It's a screensaver begging you for money.
It's a functional idler but it's quite ridiculous that on your first day of playing, the game tries to advertise a $1,111 top-up, which is representative of the nature of this title in general - P2W.
👎 Not Recommended Almost 110 hours played, and honestly I wish I had stopped much earlier. Idle Saga looks like a typical idle RPG at first, but the longer you play the more you realize there’s barely anything there. It’s just numbers going up with almost no real depth, no meaningful progression, and very little reason to keep the game open. The biggest problem is motivation. Idle games usually give you goals to chase, upgrades to plan around, or achievements to grind for. This game has… none of that. After a while it just feels like you’re leaving a program running for no reason. The fact that there are no achievements is honestly wild for a game that’s built around grinding. If achievements were added, at least there would be some reason to keep playing. Without them, it just feels empty. I put 100 hours into it hoping something interesting would eventually happen. It never really did. If achievements get added one day, I might reconsider and give it one star. Right now though, this just feels like an idle game that forgot to add the fun part.
awful , 0 gameplay, p2w even theres nothing to win
Warning: Microtransaction infested mobile app! This game is infested with a toxic mobile app style cash shop. You will be prompted to and expected to give money to the developers through this cash shop to buy in-game goods so you can play the game.
"Idle Saga" is one of thousands of nasty mobile apps infesting the "free" section of Steam, but it's not really free. This garbage tier mobile scam is particularly obnoxious, featuring almost no gameplay (just clicker/idler/incrementer garbage), but with bonus popup advertising constantly hounding you to spend money in the toxic cash shop. Mobile scams couldn't get much more offensive than this one. There's only a superficial game here. The game visuals and the game itself are incredibly shallow... think of them as the too-bright, colourful, thin plastic cabinet dress theme on a poker machine at the casino. That's basically what this is. So really, the mobile app "game" is just a veneer, a thin skin wrapped around a nasty, predatory mobile app cash shop. Putting that toxic mobile app monetisation aside... this is a mobile app. I didn't spend thousands on a gaming PC so I could pretend it's an iPhone, and I don't think you did either... this kind of mobile app has no place in your Steam library. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. In terms of public reception, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Since free games don't contribute to your game collector badge and other profile stuff, is this a worthwhile addition to your Steam library? Definitely not... this is just an unethical cash grab. Avoid at all costs.
Typical Idle game, Although this one does seem to require a bit more attention for upgrading gear and skills. Initial login can require 5-10 min to get everything updated and upgraded. Dungeons and arena combat also requires clicks. So I'd have to say this game is only "semi" idle. Graphics aren't bad obviously made for mobile. As far as idle games go, 7/10 overall
