About
I HAD A PLAN!
You are a Wizard. A brilliant Wizard, with a brilliant plan. Unfortunately you also have team mates. As you make your way through dungeons and enchanted forests alike, you need to manage your team mates… and your frustration. I Had A Plan! is a Tactical Roguelite Semi-Autobattler, which takes place in a 3D world with Hex Grids, using 2D Characters.

GIVE COMMANDS!
You don’t fight with your Wizard directly, instead you can give your team orders, which they might follow. If they do listen, they follow your orders and get a small bonus to that action. If they do not however, your frustration grows. Your frustration meter is vital, once it fills up, there is only one answer: Fireball.

WATCH THEM FIGHT!
Don't feel like telling them what to do? Maybe they're smart enough to win by themselves! Or maybe they're not, and they'll burn, it's a win-win!

AND MUCH MORE!
- Find new Characters to Recruit!
- Equip your team with insane weapons!
- Use magical Charms to shape your run and break the game!
- Choose your path through mysterious Realms!
- Discoveries, Realm Quests and Metaprogression will keep you coming back!

Played through the first area so far, interesting concept for sure with a mix of auto battling with a chance for the player to influence the decision making. Game also has a good sense of humor and clearly doesn't take itself too seriously. Runs good on steam deck so far, although UI can be a bit small sometimes, but I'm sure that can be resolved in the future. Going to hop back in soon to continue on =)
Updated - After bugfix the game is not crashing anymore. Some minor optical mistakes in the fields of play. But overall its fun. I hope more content is coming but so far i love the promise of this game. Feels that i am going to love this, but already crashed twice. Not sure yet, but for now i recommend it. The support from the developer is great.
One word: CHARMING! The 2D chartacters running around in a colorful 3D world just works beautifully. Also, ordering around allies who may completely ignore you is way more entertaining than it sounds. Solid game! Love it!
Intelligence actually being a useful stat is refreshing. Dumb characters do dumb things, pretty cool.
I went into this thinking it might just be a silly casual game, but there's a lot more depth here. Managing obedience checks, timing, perception checks, focus... it’s smart design packaged into something funny and easygoing. Loving it so far! I am going to eat now and will play it later further. greetings René
Love this game! When I'm not battling, I enjoy roaming around the different worlds to explore. I particularly enjoy the humour and the option of giving the team members free will! Would definitely recommend.
I LOVE THIS GAME. It's different and fun and witty and just plain wonderful. The progress system encourages me to want to play more, as do the unlockable characters. The realms are fun and the battles are always interesting, especially when you have cranky team mates! Honestly, this is such a refreshing game, I adore it.
Very fun game, I've been enjoying it a lot so far. *Warning, Spoilers... kinda?* Best thing to happen to me so far is while fighting Elara, have her plagiarize "Summon Water" from Phy. Next time its her turn, she then plagiarized "Summon Water" again and gave it to the summoned Water Elemental. This resulted in a combination of Water Elementals summoning Water Elementals until every tile was filled with enemy Water Elementals. Needless to say, I'd personally give this game a 10/10 for uniqueness alone. Can't wait to see where this game decides to go and what new things are added.
Great game! I usually don't play many indies, but the mix of realtime wizard wandering around, giving commands, and then watching things fall apart because your allies have minds of their own is brilliant. Sprites are charming, battles are strategic, and it's just plain fun.
Easily one of the most original indies I've played recently. It’s refreshing when a game genuinely surprises you. Your wizard character being constantly frustrated at unreliable minions feels relatable in a bizarre way. Battles stay exciting due to the unpredictability of allies, and the hex-grid gameplay is thoughtfully designed. Highly recommend to anyone looking for something different.
