great game
A simple and straightforward game which is also addicting, though there should be more settings to minimise lag when you come to round 110 and up. Great game.
huuuge upgrade from the demo, incredibly fun pve
How Many Dudes is a fairly fun and well-put-together little game with a great art style and some decent interplay between the dudes and the items the player can get during the roguelike runs that make up the main game loop. However, even the shortest runs drag on quite a bit and being succesful means reaching a point about 50-60% of the way through where you switch from making meaningful choices and interventions to more just hoping your PC doesn't explode trying to figure out whether 80 dudes of various professions can beat 200 angry hogs. If it were a bit tighter, involved the player more actively, and took it's premise a bit further with more jokey references, I could see it being really great. But, as is at time of posting, I'd say 6/10, grab it on sale if you like this sort of thing.
Really fun game, excellent art style, and great humour. Perfect for mindless enjoyment. It does lack depth and variation - after about 5 runs I started to feel that I had seen everything, by ten hours, I definitely felt like I was just repeating. The enemy variation is really lacking - I would've liked to have seen different enemy types vary between the levels. Most runs come down to whether you've stacked enough healers or not. It feels early access in a lot of ways. No controller support is criminal too, given how perfect a game like this is for a steam deck. Nonetheless, enjoyable enough for the price to recommend.
Brilliantly creative, a total blast, and bustling with possibilities.
"send dudes" "you mean nudes?" "I'm in a fight. I need more men"
Easily 9/10 dudes! I grabbed this game when it first launched, and have put quite a few hours in already. I payed 10$ for it, and it’s well worth that! If you like simple strategy games with rogue like elements, this will satiate that. If the dev happens to see this, first: Great job! Second: Would like to see a couple QoL changes, option to start a fight on a speed, option to slow things down to 0.5x speed, 0.25 feels too slow. Last: If you plan to add more dudes, I suggest Cryptids such as Mothman dudes, Sasquatch dudes, Swamp Monster dudes, etc. could be a fun addition!
Kiilipede is a run snuffing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Alot. Alot of dudes.
