Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is a fantastic sequel and a worthy conclusion to one of the most memorable indie series of the 2010s. It takes everything that made the first game so addictive and goes bigger: more characters, more weapons, more enemies, larger levels, more mechanics, and an even more ambitious story. The result is a longer and more varied experience that constantly pushes you to adapt your playstyle. The different characters are a particularly interesting addition. Each one brings unique abilities or restrictions that completely change the way you approach an encounter, forcing you to rethink the fast and brutal gameplay you're used to. The game is at its best when it gives you the freedom to improvise, react to enemy behavior, and turn a chaotic situation into a perfectly executed massacre. And, once again, the audiovisual presentation is incredible. The pixel art is more detailed, the animations are fantastic, and the soundtrack is absolutely phenomenal. With artists like Perturbator, Carpenter Brut, M|O|O|N and Jasper Byrne, the music is arguably one of the game's greatest strengths. The story is also much more ambitious than the first game, following multiple characters and timelines as the consequences of the original game's events unfold. It can be confusing at times, but the atmosphere and presentation make it a fascinating conclusion to the saga. Some levels are noticeably more open and gun-focused than in the first game, which can make certain encounters feel less fluid and more restrictive. But once you adapt to its design philosophy, there's an incredible amount of depth to discover. And if the campaign isn't enough, the Hard Mode and level editor provide even more reasons to come back. More ambitious, more brutal, more stylish, and absolutely unforgettable. A fantastic sequel and a must-play for fans of the original.
(Finished on Xbox). What is there to really say about this banger of a game? Both a sequel and a prequel for the first game with longer levels, a ton of characters all connected by Jackets actions in the first game along with the story of the GOAT Beard, with a soundtrack thumping along while you commit massive acts of violence. Truly a masterpiece by Dennaton that lives up and in a lot of ways blows the first out of the water. Sure there's the answers to 50 blessings and other mysteries, a great message about the consequences of violence, and one of the best stories in gaming but it all goes to the wayside when I am stuck on a floor because a lucky AI keeps killing my dumb ass
siento que quiero mas violencia pero meda miedo salir a la calle

The first Hotline Miami was very enjoyable. Weird, trippy story, action-heavy gameplay, not much unnecessary clutter, little frustration potential. With this second one, the developers pretty much made everything worse. They added a story that is so fractured and pointless that I never even bothered to care. They added missions that you are forced to play on a certain way, stripped from all the stuff that made the first game fun to play. They made lots of the levels so long and frustrating that it drains all the fun. Huge open spaces that will get you killed from enemies walking offscreen or even hidden below overlaid decorative stuff. Most maps feature glass panels everywhere. They managed to make the controls WORSE. Your mouse control gets distorted at the boders of the map, whoch will cause you to miss important shots. There are also lots of instances where your bullets get caught by doorways and walls, while it looks like you are already standing in the open. I had lots of fun in the first game with dying again and again, because you always managed to get a bit better and and further. But in this game, it's just frustrating, because the levels tend to be extremely unforgiving and all the issues explained above will cause you to fail again and again. This isn't fun for me. I'm towards the end of the story missions right now. No idea of I manage to finish the game. I got the game pretty cheap, so I won't complain, but... yeah.. no recommendation.
