Hotel Hideaway / Monetized Chatroom
First of all I wanna clarify it here once and once only: Hotel Hideaway is not a game it's more like a glorified chatroom. The definition of the word game is "a form of play or sport, especially a competitive one played according to rules and decided by skill, strength, or luck." while there is elements of that the experiences are very limited and few and far between. If you download this what you can expect is a place to make friends, customize avatars and rooms, but like with any free product it comes with its price.
The Good
There is a wide variety of character customization, furniture, colors, emotes, etc available to players, most of which can be earned through doing daily tasks and rifting. Rifting is a feature in the game where a portal looking thing will pop up in rooms at set times to reward players either of the two main game currency "coins or diamonds." In fact there are methods to unlock nearly everything without spending money. Most items in the game that are seasonal do return so FoMO isn't too bad. HH is also crossplay with mobile devices so if you are looking to make friends with various tastes and hobbies outside of gaming then there's plenty of non-gamers on the app. It also has this friendship tier system that I am really fond of and wish was implimented in other games. Essentially you can use stamps which are a regenerative thing that everyone has to upgrade a friendship up to a total of 5 times. 1st stamp is free so that you can friend everyone, 2nd takes like 20 minutes of playtime and the 5th and final stamp takes 12 hours. This means it takes some dedication and trust to get to that level with someone. The higher tier of friendship you are with a person allows for stronger connections.

Their name will show at the top of your friends list.
You will be able to gift each other better rewards for daily logins.
It effects cooperative emotes turning things like awkward tier 1 hugs with each other into lifting them off the ground into a tight squeeze.

The Bad
Coming from Someone who's been playing almost a year there's a lot so I'll try to note them down.

The diamond price point of some items is way too high. I am talking individual clothing pieces that can cost upwards of $13Cad and there's even a few emotes that cost over the $25Cad pack. So if you don't get the good rifts then obtaining items is infuriating.
The game has an incredibly slow start. There are ways to minimize this process but for the most part it's barely fun till you reach someting like level 40.
Bugs when they exist are extremely bad. Just last month users weren't able to view colours in the stores without the game crashing, and there were serverwide thanos snaps where half the people in various rooms would just crash at random. (It's worse for mobile users.)
You can only link your account to either Steam or Facebook, If you want to play on your phone sometimes on the go then you choose facebook. If you ever delete your facebook your account will be gone for good.
Customization though vast is sometimes lacking. For example wings, necklaces, and tails or hip items are all tied to the same category. Facepaint and tats are in the same category as jawline and beards. Special effects around your avatar and glowing eyes or foggy breath are in the same category. This makes it feel restricting and impossible to mix and match certain items.
The overall experience can feel tedious with daily login tasks and trials of style. Since there isn't any meaningful minigames you are stuck in an annoying grind

In Conclusion
As irritating as it's flaws can be I would still recommend it to people who'd just like a simple place to socialize with an adult audience that reaches further than the space of VRchat weirdos. It does still have something that you could find value in, I know I have. I don't plan to leave HH entirely as many of the friends I have made use this as a central hub to interact with each other physically when we are not busy playing actual games or or on group calls with each other.

Hotel Hideaway: Avatar & ̶C̶h̶a̶t̶ 📢Olarak güncellenmeli oyunun platformdaki adı. ' Artık şifresiz wifi olsan bile bağlanmam sana ̶H̶o̶t̶e̶l̶ ̶H̶i̶d̶e̶a̶w̶a̶y̶ ' Sulake Oy'unlarına vermiş olduğum 14 yıl hatrına bir tek yetkili çıkıp da sistemdeki sorun ne, nerede hata yapıyoruz demedi... Müşteri memnuniyetinin tamamen kalmadığı, oyuncunun yok sayıldığı günlerdeyiz. Oyunun haline dönüp bakan yok; odalar bomboş, tıpkı o vasıfsız elçileriniz gibi... Her yer kaderine terk edilmiş durumda. Mirza Hide-AwayFromThisGame ____________ “Even if you were password-free WiFi, I still wouldn’t connect to you, ̶H̶o̶t̶e̶l̶ ̶H̶i̶d̶e̶a̶w̶a̶y̶ Mirza Hide-AwayFromThisGame” For the sake of the 14 years I have devoted to Sulake Oy games, not a single official has ever come out to ask what the problem in the system is, or where they are going wrong... We are living in times where customer satisfaction has completely disappeared and the player is being ignored. No one even looks at how the game has become; the rooms are empty, just like your incompetent ambassadors... Everything has been left to its fate. Maybe for you, we were nothing more than numbers. But we were a loyal community that stood by you for years without expecting anything in return, that showed up at your doors every single day. The way staff—who would not last even a second in those positions without receiving a year’s salary—treat people who have devoted their lives to this game; in the Hideaway dictionary, this disgrace is called “bintang.” The fact that this team could break such loyal hearts so easily was the most painful part of the farewell. For us, it was loyalty; for you, it became disloyalty. Still, I wait in hope that you will eventually fix things, recognize the mistakes you have made, and understand the damage you have done to the game. No sick person waits for the morning, No fresh dead waits for the grave, Nor does the devil wait for a sin, As much as I wait for you to mend your ways. Mirza Hide-AwayFromThisGame
rly just a gambling game, wouldn't recommend it to anyone. But I like the dress-up (that's only good if u spend money on the game).
I remember messing around on this 'game' way back when for a laugh on mobile, via Google Play. Since I really only use my phone as a glorified alarm clock, I ended up uninstalling it - it just didn't hold my interest. Forgot all about it until rather recently when I noticed it popped up on Steam. I'd be interested in continuing where I left off, but it only allows you to connect via Facebook only (or Steam itself), and as I have never once made any "social" media profile in my life and never will, I'm gonna have to not recommend this game. It's not even a 'bad' game, per se, it's one of those "it's not me, it's you" things, y'know? I would recommend the devs try to jerryrig something for fans of this game whose accounts are essentially lost in the mobile ether, because it doesn't sit right with me that they're pretty much hosed here.
overall alright for free.
The amount of microtransactions is insane, and honestly deplorable. The only reason I'm level 100 is because prior to the game being +18, since around 2021, I was a minor who was spending money on the game since I was not mentally developed enough to understand. I have been coming back to the game for years, simply because my younger self spent said money, but ever since I started playing without making purchases I can feel how dreadfully slow and annoying it is to make any progress in the game. This next point is unrelated, but there is a serious problem with racists, homophobes, transphobes, etc... Hotel Hideaway is NOT a game worth playing. Save yourself the trouble.
