Experienced on the Meta Quest 2 and 3
You can view my gameplay & early impressions here: https://youtu.be/clqq4YEmNrA This is a Tower Defense game that has a nice concept, even if it's not exactly one new to VR. The problem is that it isn't executed well. The game mechanics are very out-dated & buggy. There's also very little content with only 3 worlds with several waves each (there is an endless mode for each as well) and 3 basic enemy types (plus a boss). There is no progression system. There is no tutorial. You're just thrown in there to figure things out. The problem is that everything is clunky. The VR interactions are mostly point & click. I was able to just lay down barricades and enemies were stuck behind them and unable to clear them before I could take them all down one by one. The only reason I wasn't able to beat the game was because I ran into several game-breaking bugs. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting mostly 90 fps (on Quest 2). You do have full locomotion and snap turning. You also have teleport available, but it doesn't work on the stairs. You can set height in the settings, well if it worked, but it doesn't. You can stop the music in the settings, but it doesn't work. I don't think the graphical settings work either. Well, it is in Early Access. Hopefully the developers fix all the issues. Maybe then I could recommend this game. However, on release, as is, it feels like an unfinished demo. Horizon of Horus is a tower defense game that's a blast to play in VR. It looks great and the controls are super easy. It's in early access, so I can't wait to see what new levels they'll add in the future. If you're into VR and tower defense games, you've got to give Horizon of Horus a try!
Standard TD gameplay in VR, but the immersive twist is a win. Waiting for more content and crossing fingers for co-op.
seems like a good game though i havent got it to run smooth, Everytime it loads theres screen tearing on the hands / im on a i9 with rtx 4080 , my vr games work so not sure if its just a game glicth
the game offers a promising glimpse into the potential of VR tower defense, but it's clear that it's still in the early stages of development... As expected with early access, there are noticeable features still in development and a few minor bugs that need addressing. However, the game manages to deliver a fun and engaging experience despite these hiccups. It's like witnessing a work in progress – you can see the rough edges, but the core gameplay shines through ;)
This game made me hate bettles on a level that I did not even know that is possible. Please give my money back NOW!
very similiar to common TD games but now you're also in the action to defend the tower. Needs more content, especially co-op mode would be nicer. I'll keep it because it's in ea currently.
👎Broken on Index
I really wanted to play. It looks well designed and well made. But when I start it it explicitly says "does not appear to support your current headset". Why doesn't the Store Page indicate what devices it does supports? The Dev can pick that, but instead picked the universal "VR Support" of all devices on the right side of the page. This is the only game I have this issue with. If anyone discovers I'm wrong, or wants to play something while we "wait" for this DEV, then stop by and say hi. 🔥►Meet people PLAYING now (in group CHAT link below) 🏆►VR Giveaways and CHAT 🏆 💬►See JOIN & CHAT at JoinUsInVR.com = https://steamcommunity.com/groups/JoinUsInVR DEAR DEV, if you fix the game, or your steam page, reply here and I'll "fix" my review.
Potential for virtual reality, hungry for more substance. Mechanics need refining for a smoother experience, but I'm onboard for Early Access updates
