About
HOMESICKNESS is a solely developed point-and-click free-roam psychological horror game that delves into the depths and nuances of nostalgia and primitive online media.
Step into the shoes of Theo as he explores the empty, desolate halls of CHILDREEF, making his way to the lower floors. With the Kids' Multi-tool, uncover hidden exits and find your way down as you attempt to make sense of what is happening.
Explore, collect items, find special tools for survival, and overcome what awaits in the seemingly empty corridors of CHILDREEF.
With each game over, things begin to change. Previously visited paths become blocked, and disorientation starts to set in.
Keep an eye on unseen corners; you are not alone.

You play as young Theo, awakening in a place long forgotten. In his possession is a lone tape, left behind by a loved one who holds a place in his heart.
The remnants of the tape serve as your only guide, leading you deeper into the daycare of CHILDREEF. As you listen to the tape's fragmented messages, clues begin to emerge.
The voice that speaks on the other end is the one that will guide you. She waits for you to come, on your way down.
Point-and-click free-roam exploration spanning three segments, where every corner must be checked; every item has a purpose.
Varied mechanics for each threat, each centered around a different tool at your disposal.
A deep dive into the nuances and symptoms of nostalgia, portrayed through an abstract, surreal lens.
A flexible, carefully crafted 2000s aesthetic that reinforces the core themes and atmosphere of HOMESICKNESS.
Lite gameplay randomization; with every death, room functions shift, previous exits disappear, and items appear in different locations.
An emotional, psychological story, woven into every aspect of the game.
Expansive post-game content, directly expanding on the main narrative; once you finish the game, there will still be much to discover.
Accessibility options and a highly customizable UI; playable with both mouse and keyboard or mouse only. The game does not rely on sound, though audio enhances the experience.
Optimized performance, ensuring smooth gameplay on most mid-range modern computers.
A minimum of 1GB of RAM is required to run the game.

I played this dope ass game for free through my friend and 100%ed it because this game is genuinely so awesome I bought it even after everything is done. I put so much time just replaying this game even though there was nothing else to do. It’s so great. The atmosphere of this game is something else. It was just perfect. The storyline was simple but still enjoyable. It always made me question what was going on until the end. The ending made me just sit there for a while. I was speechless. What a great game. And the soundtrack, holy ♥♥♥♥, the soundtrack. The entire ost is my playlist because it’s phenomenal and fits the game perfectly. It makes it so much better from the droning to the melodic lullaby sounding tracks, it’s generational. quiet will always be my favorite track. This game is definitely in my top 10 and probably will stay there for a while. I finished this game for free and still I decided to pay for it. I absolutely recommend this game.
PLEASE BUY THIS GAME!! I have a really hard time getting into new games but HOMESICKNESS really hit thee mark for me, its a very simple but engaging game to play with extremely fun resource management and enjoyable gameplay loop. It has such a wonderful and unique art style as well. If you're into psychological horror this is definitely worth your time.
home and sick
Amazing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game, being so close to the Claybodies at times freaked me the ♥♥♥♥ out. only thing is i wish they did the freeze mode more often
Great Short Game Experience
The game isn’t scary at all it’s more about tension than fear. The tension comes from those unexpected enemy encounters. Getting jumped by those weird looking enemies had me panicking like, “wtf am I supposed to do?” One enemy tells me to open my phone, another tells me to stfu… like hello? I just stood there and accepted my fate, kinda like that James Sunderland scene in Silent Hill 2 where he’s standing in the rain. This game has a serious difficulty spike. The first chapter had me thinking, “hmm, easy and chill horror game.” Then chapter 2 hits and boom I was dead wrong. Instead, I got raped by the enemies. The soundtrack is great and the art style is really solid. I love how the enemies look absurd and disturbing. Also, don’t worry if you die in this game, you’ll get some really interesting cutscenes.

Final Verdict: Short but tense, stylish, and worth the ride.
After having a LONG playthrough for homesickness, I'd say this game is absolutely worth it if you like nostalgic horror, the mystery of childreef, Theo's journey to meet up with Casey and his mother, it's all so interesting, especially the things after you, the claybodies being the titulair enemies you come across, and how you have to chat with them using the multi-tool, the clayheads, forcing you to stop looking at it or erase it, the lingers when Theo gets stressed, every monster/enemy is thought out well!, I'd 100% recommend this it made me cry.
In english: Thank you Joel, for this amazing storytelling and masterpiece of game. The music is perfect and the ambience is flawless. The message you put in this game hit in the depths of my soul, i will carry this for my entire life. Thank you for explaining the backstory, and putting New Game+, really adds to the replayability.
As a friend of the developer, watching this game come to life was really astonishing. Gameplay is not too difficult at first, but can keep you on your toes later on when things get hectic. Every room has something special about it, a ancient, nostalgic feeling that drives you to keep on looking for things to come. This game's story is told in a very sporadic way, but it adds to its energy. Its not meant to feel linear, its meant to feel broken, which better conveys how the protagonist is broken. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this and I highly suggest people play it.
This is the first game I’ve seen that truly understands the meaning of liminal spaces and dreamcore - ESPECIALLY in the third chapter. What an absolute trip.
Honestly, I really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ liked this game chooms This is a point and click exploration game that has an early 2000's aesthetic with the main protagonist THEO going through a place called CHILDSREEF, I'll not spoil anymore of the story but needless to say the game was alot of fun to play and stream- Though there were times where the game felt almost downright unfair- but I believe due to the simplicity of the CLAYBODIES that inhabit this world I'd say that you can make it through the skin of your teeth. This game sadly wasn't all too scary. I rate this game a 10/10 on the story 8/10 on gameplay 10/10 on aesthetics/graphics 6/10 on horror so overall about a 8.5/10 I would recommend, definitely one of my favourite games that could be explored more in the future
