Homeostasis

Extremely good graphics, atmosphere and overall gameplay loop. While I applaud the game for being a stand-out in terms of unique mechanics and art direction, it falls short when it comes to actually trying to beat the game. The game often times refuses to turn on the engine when overheated even if the temperature is normal and I have found myself dying at random near the bridge crossing section multiple times while safe and inside of the vehicle without the engine overheating or being near frozen. With fixes to these issues I can see this game being extremely noteworthy, but for now I am forced to leave a negative review.

Conceptually this seems very cool. Planets have appeared from nowhere and corporations are rushing to make their claim on the new natural resources. The creative direction kind of loses me from there. There are documents placed which are clearly supposed to make you think that there is life on the planet and yet there is no creature in the game. I can only assume the devs put these there to make the player THINK that there is a creature so they feel more on edge. Which is a rather cheap tactic. Even the environmental language of the game [spoiler] (furniture barricading rooms, cans of cat food being eaten, large gashes in the floor, windows broken out, signs pleading for the mining to not happen?) suggests that yes there is something going on here but the game ends with nothing reveals. The evil corporations leaves you to die and you can escape on the rocket if your key card hasn't bugged out and can still be picked up. [/spoiler] There are numerous bugs which I won't hold against it but they do nonetheless make the process of playing the game annoying. Areas and items have a tendency to reset but only under certain conditions? Reloads don't seem to cause it but dying and respawning does. The fences which blocks of the bridge will magically reassemble itself for instance. Its a fun experience when it works, but the creative decisions seem lacking...
