The trilogy is pretty fun and enjoyable. These are things I liked from each game. Hitman 1: the cutscenes and story. Hitman 2: Great maps (a bit unfortunate that the Haven Island is a DLC, but if you're willing to cough up money it's fun.) Hitman 3: Great way to end the game, fun and distinct changes for each mission that add fun elements to the game. One final thing, here is how I feel for freelancer: Freelancer is fun and allows for creativity. This is good; however, because of the concept of random targets, there are several instances where luck is needed. This can lead to either incredibly precise and satisfying kills, or insanely stupid and impossible sitiuations. Dianna has 100% correct when saying "high risk, high reward." Either way, it's a fun game.

First thing's first: ignore the drama, just buy the Deluxe Version. For $30 on seasonal sale, it's more content than even most hardcore fans will ever play through. Review: Hitman WoA is a great game for the most part. It's a fun sandbox puzzle game where you figure out the best way to kill people. The thing to be aware of is that it's technically three games in a bundle, and there is very little consistency between them. IOI has put very little effort into making it seem like one game, in spite of still pumping out DLC years after. It causes a lot of whiplash to go from the most beautiful FMVs you've ever seen to stilted storyboards, from tight, well-crafted maps to oversized hodgepodge areas implying ambition without direction or time. It's still a great game, but unless you're already a huge Hitman fan, you should probably just get the basic version, the first game, when it's 90% off on seasonal sale, which is already a plethora of content.
