Hitman World of Assassination — A Biased Fan’s Take
I’ll admit it right from the beginning — I’m biased when it comes to Hitman. I’ve been a fan of the series for years, so naturally, I went into Hitman World of Assassination already wanting to love it. And honestly, the game made that pretty easy.
The first thing that stood out to me was the graphics. The environments look fantastic, and every location feels carefully designed rather than just being a backdrop for the missions. From crowded streets and luxurious mansions to exotic locations, there’s a lot of visual variety, and the game does a great job of making each place feel alive.
But for me, the real strength of Hitman has always been its storytelling and missions. World of Assassination continues that tradition really well. The stories behind the targets are interesting, and the missions are designed in a way that makes me want to explore instead of simply rushing toward the objective. There’s something satisfying about discovering different opportunities, experimenting with disguises, and figuring out how everything fits together.
The gameplay is probably the biggest reason I keep coming back to it. Hitman gives you so much freedom in how you approach a mission. You can carefully plan everything, improvise when things go wrong, or completely embrace the chaos. Sometimes the best moments are the ones where your perfect plan falls apart and you somehow manage to recover.
I also really enjoyed the Superstar collaboration missions. They felt like a fun addition to the world and gave the game something different beyond the main storyline. I particularly liked how these collaborations weren't just simple celebrity appearances but were integrated into the Hitman-style mission structure.
That said, there is one thing that genuinely bothers me about World of Assassination: the amount of additional content you have to purchase.
I understand that a game like Hitman has a huge amount of content, and I appreciate the effort that goes into creating new locations, missions, and experiences. But from a player's perspective, it can sometimes feel like there are too many DLCs, editions, and additional purchases to keep up with. If you're someone who wants to experience everything the game has to offer, the overall cost can become a little frustrating.
Despite that, I still have a lot of love for this game.
Maybe that's because I'm already a Hitman fan, but World of Assassination gives me exactly what I want from the series: beautiful environments, engaging missions, interesting stories, freedom in gameplay, and that unique Hitman feeling where every mission can turn into something completely unexpected.
So yes, this is definitely a biased review. But sometimes that's the point of a personal review. I'm not looking at Hitman World of Assassination purely as a critic trying to find every flaw. I'm looking at it as someone who has always enjoyed these games and genuinely had a great time playing this one.
My verdict: 9/10
A fantastic Hitman experience that I would happily recommend to fans of the series — just be prepared to navigate the DLC maze along the way.
