A fun, unique, and cute take on "hover racing," if you will. It's somewhat limited but what there is very cool. The tracks look very cool, the overall aesthetics are quite pleasant. It tries to add a new twist to power ups, namely each broom combines differently with each power up ("ingredient") so that each broom has access to unique power ups. All of this is quite good for something that is built by students as part of classwork. And it's free! I actually wish this could get turned into a full-fledged commercial game, as I think it would be quite cool.
让我想起了洛克王国里的小游戏
I was interested in this game as it appeared to be a fun arcade racer, as well as because it was free. Hex Rally Racers is similar to many arcade kart racers, only that you're racing brooms instead of traditional cars/such; it's a good change of pace from other games of this genre. The power-up system is cool too, simulating witch spells that may differ depending on which broom you choose. All in all, pretty solid game, and furthermore so as it's free! As a final note, this is the first arcade racer I've seen that won't award points to the last few finishers in grand prix mode (normally even last place will get at least a point)- this may lead to a situation where one is fighting for a point at all, rather than just places in the standings. I recommend Hex Rally Racers to fans of arcade-style racing games. As aforementioned, it is a change of pace (i found) from the traditional kart racer. Overall, it's a solid and well done game!
Look, visuals are cute, songs are quite nice, and it's definitely a kart game, an ok one at that, but it has quite a few problems -First the game feels slow, very slow, even at max speed, this is my biggest complaint, game could run at 150% speed -Drifting is very clunky, I caught myself only using it reliably in I think 1 turn per race -It's very easy, you can win every race without getting an item, bots rarely attack you, and shortcuts are very easy to get -No shooting backwards (as far as I can tell), which makes most items useless in first place -One of the items is useless in general, the smoke one, bots simply ignore it -Controls are quite bad on keyboard, WASD with E to throw items and Space to drift... Could've done arrow keys + ZX, but that's personal opinion Another issue is the lack of content, only 6 races, but it's a free game, you guys only make free games, so it's not really a problem and I guess we all appreciate that, but if we at least had "difficulty settings" by making everyone faster and bots use items more often, would be enough to make this a more replayable and enjoyable experience, and I doubt that would require more than half an hour of coding I'm still voting recommended because it's a really cool idea and a cute game
