DISCLAIMER: I am writing this review from a multiplayer POV. Not really interested in campaign at all. Never was and never will be. Multiplayer is something that makes the game last forever. This is the best Heroes of Might and Magic series I have played so far. If you like Homm series, you wont be disappointed. At the moment of writing this review, game is sill in early access / beta state and lacking some features. PROS: - New, fresh factions, spells, units etc. - Faction laws, astrology system makes the game more complex - PVP queuing is brilliant. Just one button and you will get opponent withing minutes. - Having a hotkeys for EVERYTHING. Splitting units, their abilities etc. NEUTRAL: - Graphics. It is just everyone's personal preference. I didn't like it at first but the more I played, the less issue it was. - Difficult to start for a new players as game is complex. Hundreds of units to learn, their abilities, spells etc... This is kind of game that requires a bit of dedication. CONS: - Balance/ban system. Player1, then player2 bans a faction, which means two strongest factions are most of the time banned. You have to choose only from pool of 4, which is small already. Considering we all have own preferences and dislike some factions, you are left with a pool of 2-3 factions to play which becomes really boring long term. SOLUTION? Bidding for factions like in homm3 - Map/ban system. Again... People love Exodus template. I understand. It is insta pick from most of the players. Even developers force this template to be always on the list. Sounds like a good thing? Probably is for the most. But this system makes me play same template over and over again. I need a variety, man! SOLUTION? Queueing with map or maps of my choice. FINAL SCORE: 9/10 As I said, it is the best game of homm series I have played so far. Yes, game needs some improvements but devs are working on it.
Oh boy this game hits the nostalgia hard! Plenty currently in the game to keep you engaged and having fun, multiplayer/matchmaking available too and constant updates. I barely see a week go by without them fixing something/balancing something. It is fantastic to see. I wish there was more than 6 armies in the game but I guess that'll come with DLC after the launch of the game proper. You've got me hooked again! Heroes of Might and Magic 3 was the first game I ever had on a pc. Happy to be back in the seat playing a modern version of a classic.
매시즌마다 하던 추억의 게임! 다시 새롭게 할수 있다니! 역시 재밌어요
画面漂亮,游戏玩法多样性
It's heroes, and it's great.
Hi, I don’t usually leave reviews—this is actually my first—but I’ve been playing mostly multiplayer and wanted to share a few thoughts. Balance, balance, balance. Some factions feel much stronger once you understand their mechanics, to the point where an experienced player can dominate opponents pretty consistently. Schism is one example that stands out to me. Hopefully balance continues to be a major focus as multiplayer develops. Team multiplayer would be fantastic. At some point, I’d love to see the ability to play with friends against other groups of friends. Something like 2v2 or team-based multiplayer, potentially with resource sharing or other cooperative mechanics inspired by some of the older Heroes of Might & Magic games. It could add another layer of strategy where teamwork and coordination really matter. A new faction would bring a lot of excitement. I won’t try to decide which faction it should be, but after what has already been a fairly long Early Access period, introducing another faction would really help freshen up the game and give players something substantial to explore. I’ll start with those three points, but overall I really enjoy the game and I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes. As a long-time player of the series, I think one of the game's biggest advantages in a market filled with similar games is its nostalgia, history, and lore. Build on that. Make the game as deep and juicy as possible using everything this franchise already has behind it. You don’t always need to reinvent the wheel when there are so many great ideas, systems, factions, creatures, and mechanics from previous editions to learn from and evolve. Thanks again for the work so far. I’m genuinely looking forward to seeing how the game continues to advance.
