The game drops you into a post-apocalyptic world where the sun itself is lethal—burning you in seconds, much like Riddick. It aims for minimalism in design and atmosphere, but that simplicity often slips into forgettability. The two central figures lack uniqueness. Their strained relationship is obvious from the start—one refuses help, clinging to the illusion of independence—but the writing doesn’t flesh out their inner lives. Playing as a child adds intrigue, yet the age feels inconsistent: a supposed 10-year-old who somehow drives a crane, despite not even knowing what a store is. This disconnect undermines believability. Backstory exists, but the emotional core is missing. We never learn what truly happened to the parents or why the sun became deadly. Without these anchors, the story struggles to resonate as a reflection of modern life. The mysterious dog, while interactive, fails to become a meaningful companion—more prop than partner, unlike a Scooby-Doo-style ally. Despite narrative flaws, the game succeeds in atmosphere. Its uncanny, minimalistic tone creates a short but immersive experience. The world feels oppressive yet oddly light, a contradiction that keeps you curious enough to continue. This is a game you might play for its mood rather than its story. It delivers justice to its environment but lacks depth, emotion, and character development. It’s minimalistic and uncanny, but not something you’d talk about much afterward. 6.5/10

Concept interesting but execution not so much. It's a short project but it still felt too long for me. The only emotion that the characters gave me was annoyance. Story is very shallow. Gameplay sluggish and boring. Achievments require at least 2 runs, so not being able to skip the dialouge/animations is a big negative.
The gruffness of The Last of Us with the aesthetics of Life is Strange. There were some minor bugs, but this was a sweet little adventure. I loved everything about it. The character interaction, the reminiscing of what once was, and a PUPPY!! The collectables were fun to look for, too. It may have been a glitch, but while we guide the protagonist up the ladder, he continuously does some preparation steps before fully climbing. Not sure if it was purposeful, but it felt very genuine. SPOILERS(?) At the end of the game, when you're searching the junkyard, you come across a doodle of a little family. On my first run, only the dad was scribbled over. On my second, both of the adults were scribbled out. This may have been another bug, but it felt intentional. Knowing that the protagonist's mother will eventually pass away from her chronic illness, he will be left to wander the world alone. Very melancholy, and I love it.
