The scariest game in the entire franchise! Though it is simple, it is a very fun time for first time players and the ai is difficult to outrun or outsmart. Great game!
The start of a huge franchise and one of the most popular indie games ever. The Pre-Alpha was where it all began, but it definitely lacked a lot of qualities. For instance, the trailer showed a completely different approach compared to what we actually got. Honestly, I think the version shown in the trailer would've been better. Still, it was a fun experience finally playing it myself after spending years watching countless YouTubers play this viral game back in the day. I have to say, though, this game is actually pretty scary. To me, the Pre-Alpha and Alpha 1 are probably the scariest entries in the entire catalog. I can't really explain why, but they just have a much creepier atmosphere than the later builds. The animation makes the Neighbor show absolutely no emotion, and the chase music is so ear-bleedingly loud that it makes me want to rip my ears off every time he spots me. That said, this is still the Pre-Alpha, so the developers were clearly still figuring out how to make the game work. The Neighbor, Mr. Peterson (or Mart), is ridiculously fast and can spot you almost instantly. I also managed to crash the game by sleeping too many times. On top of that, there's not even a proper start menu, meaning you can't really save your progress. Although, I guess that's because this version was probably meant to be completed in one sitting. Another thing I really dislike is that getting caught makes you lose all of your items, which is a huge pain in the ass. Overall, though, it's an okay game. It's definitely fun, even if the Neighbor starts launching tomatoes at you while you're standing in your own house... alongside bear traps for some reason. At this point, I'm reporting the Neighbor to the police. Every time he spots me from halfway across the map, he immediately starts smashing my windows with tomatoes. The mf is committing property damage on a daily basis. There also aren't many features, but considering this is the Pre-Alpha, I wasn't expecting a masterpiece. Nostalgia definitely helps me be a little more forgiving. It's one of those games you beat once, have a decent time with, and then never really come back to. unless you're into speedrunning. 3.2/10 Would recommend... I guess.

While not having a lot of gameplay, it is still a pre-alpha which in that case you have to give the game its props because for a pre-alpha this game is quite good. Yes the neighbors ai is slightly broken but if you get caught to many times just restart, the items stay in the same place. (Also the code is the same every time).

AWSOME
Miles better than the full release, realistic art style, actually scary at times, and the house isnt 600 stories tall. although i would have preferred if the 2nd floor wasnt blocked.
