this is obviously the best build of this game its actually tense and scary at times and doesnt rely on box stacking for gameplay and unlike the full release of the game its Free!

The peak of Hello Neighbor. Note for buyers: The promo pictures shown on this store page are actually from the unreleased Prototype build, not the playable Pre-Alpha itself. But hey, at least the AI in this version is actually scary and won't just glitch through the ceiling like it does in the full game.
Fun if you grew up with the Pre-Alpha but it's not fun when he blocks every way into his house, but it's a Pre Alpha what can you do
Being completely honest, i don't get the hype for pre-alpha. It's buggy, the neighbors AI is horrid and items can fully vanish from the game if you die with them. I honestly can't bring myself to play this for anymore time although if i wanted i could probably find a dozen more bugs than i did in the short time it took me to play and beat.
THE BAD 1 : Cross-hair is completely unaligned to the center of the screen. 2 : Chase music would just randomly play, even inside your own house. 3 : Neighbor saw me on my own porch, hurled a bear trap at me and sprinted over making me debate if i was actually the one doing the bad breaking into his house 4 : Items seemingly don't re-spawn after dying with them. 5 : Sensitivity is hyper speed and unchangeable. 6 : You can jump on the heater and see through the map. 7 : Broke the window in the back to get into the upside down room, neighbor went inside through a door and didn't register that i was right in front of him. 8 : I don't know how the neighbors AI gets praised when he's constantly prowling like a prison guard and sneaking around is practically impossible.
I can't deny that this game is iconic or the fact that it kick started the series but it's not fun as an actual game. The whole experience i had with this per-alpha was laughing my ass off with a friend on call at the sheer brokenness of it. I actually forgot some of the bugs i found and i'm sure their are more, but i don't really want to spend much more time on this pre-alpha. Oh yeah, usually i have a "THE GOOD" section as well but there is truly nothing going for this game besides being the first playable version of the series and being a bit scarier then the other versions. PLAY GAME
Better then any new release, and it's 100% free, 100% more creepy, + 100% better graphics somehow. The same goes for Alpha 1, though. Pre-Alpha has the house change depending on the amount of times that you are caught which is unique along with the neighbor actually having a quick pace. The ONLY complaint is the sensitivity is ridiculous but that's minor.
