This game is a classic in the way the measles is a classic. Aside from the cool vibes of the intro I find close to zero redeeming qualities in this game. I get that it was groundbreaking for the time but today, without nostalgia, it is a tedious chore to play through. It controls like garbage, everything feels like you're walking on ice, and the platforming if frequent and atrocious. The combat is, look at enemy and mag dump them while they mag dump you. Speaking of enemies their placement in levels is probably the worst I've ever seen in any game. They're placed in a way hiding, holding an angle and just waiting for you to come around the corner so they can light you up, its not fun. The gameplay pattern is enter tediously annoying section, eventually die and get set back a long ways, and then replay the same segment manually saving after every jump or enemy encounter. Genuinely, one of the worst video games I have ever played.
