Once again, your mission is to penetrate a strange organization’s infrastructure to discover their secrets. Your employer needs help discovering who is out to get her and she only trusts you to take on this perilous mission. Hack Time uses old-school prompts (like DOS and UNIX) to access virtual programs and systems.

Hack Time is an unfortunate hybrid of old school text adventure (think Zork) but instead of interacting with a text based dungeon adventure, it's emulating a command prompt where you pretend to be a hacker. The gameplay consists of typing nonsensical commands into an emulated command line to progress through the game. This is where the text adventure part comes in, as progression requires solving puzzles to access more systems in the game world. Much like other hacking simulators, Hack Time bears no resemblance to hacking anything at all whatsoever, which means that, like other hacking simulators, it manages to be insulting to I/T professionals, hackers and anyone who knows about I/T security as well as being insulting to gamers. The developers have managed to take the fundamental mechanism of a text based adventure game and remove anything fun from it. Impossible to recommend.

Some of the higher levels are screwed up in that the information you need to pass the level doesn't appear until later levels.
This game is super freaking boring, the other two were okay but all three fall into the same issues. The games are super repetitive and all around not interesting. The plot twists at the end of all three games are really dumb and take me out of the immersion. Also the voice acting, the horrible voice acting, there is no emotion in any voices in these games. I beat these games only because i remember them from when i was younger and because i like beating games, but it was NOT worth it. I want my 20 hours on this entire series back
Pretty lame, lmao.
Hack Time is a bit of a letdown, mixing the charm of classic text adventures like Zork with a command prompt setup where you play pretend as a hacker. Instead of exploring a dungeon, you’re stuck typing random commands into a simulated command line to move forward in the game. This is where the text adventure vibe kicks in, as you need to solve puzzles to unlock new areas in the game world. However, similar to other hacking simulators, Hack Time doesn’t really capture the essence of actual hacking, which makes it frustrating for IT pros, real hackers, and anyone familiar with cybersecurity. It feels like a slap in the face to gamers and tech enthusiasts alike. The developers have taken the core idea of a text-based adventure and stripped away all the fun, making it hard to recommend to anyone looking for an enjoyable experience.
I got this for nothing and still can't recommend it. The systems are all over the place, I had to make pages of notes to work out where certain systems were, the audio quality was bad enough in the recordings that I genuinely missed clues, and a puzzle I had to 'answer' my way through made so little sense that it almost lost me and apparently did lose a dude I saw online while looking to see how many levels there were. I toughed it out until level 53, but even then I was getting tired.
a lot of fun, but got stuck on lvl 73, couldn't even continue using the exact commands from the answer-cheat.... that just sucks.....
