I love this stupid game. I have to respect a game that is so intentionally abrasive to look at. It completely hates its players but in a good way! Imagine if one of those ancient Galaxy of Games shareware compilations had a game that was designed by someone who was popping fistfuls of Benadryl while trying to make MSPaint do something. It rules. Beyond the madness of the aesthetic though, there is a competent game here. You're the titular dog and each level has a goal you have to do. The first level, you have to follow your master to a new spot a few times. The second level, you play fetch with a thrown stick and you have to return it. Level three has you follow your master AND play fetch with a boomerang. I haven't been able to complete level three yet because it's REALLY hard. Every corner and street is filled with enemies and obstacles who are desperately trying to stop you. If you get touched by any of them, you lose and have to start the level over. I have to imagine this takes place in the same town as Paperboy, considering how much chaos is going on here. Your only move to stop them is dropping a deuce for the enemies to slip on and hopefully a car will come by and hit them while they're spinning around. It's all unforgiving in an old-school kind of way. The difficulty will turn some people off for sure but if you can deal with the graphics, you can deal with the high difficulty. You have to be a particular person to dig this but I think anyone knows if they are that type from just looking at the game's banner on the page. It's chaotic, hard to parse, and completely bonkers in a lo-fi way. Glad I took a chance on it. Who knows what kind of staying power it'll have but the store page says it has 93 levels, so there is plenty here. Thank god for weirdos.
